Long story short, I am currently in school full time doing an accelerated program that does not allow me to work. Our new medical insurance has good med coverage on some things, but covers very little of any of my sons asthma medications. He takes QVAR two puffs, twice daily which will last for about a month. Went to fill the prescription today and it costs $196 a pop. Anybody have any ideas on how we can reduce this cost? After doing some research, it looks like this is a common issue many people with asthma deal with.

I looked at the pharmaceutical company that makes QVAR's website and they do have a program with assistance but you must not have any prescription drug coverage through insurance to qualify, which would disqualify us.

I have a call into his doctor to see if there are any cheaper alternatives out there.

Thank you!
