OT: A Drive Through Western Nebraska - Pt 2 Alliance

I took US 385 from Chadron to Alliance. Who wouldn't want to see the Nebraska National Forest! I met Brad Williams, the owner of Williams Jewelers, while standing outside of Newberry's while waiting to cross to the other side. I asked him questions about the town and it's health. He told me the good and the bad. Explained that the town tore down their beautiful depot for some company that decided not to come. I'm not sure if it was the railroad. They obviously get a huge boost to their economy having the rail yard located on the south side of town. I did share a soft serve cone with my wife at Zesto's. Again, the date was May 23, 2018.

Alliance was not our destination. This passage through Nebraska was part of a 15 day, 13 state, 6100 mile journey. I try to squeeze as much as possible and I sometimes miss or pass on something. It was one of those, "Man, I missed Carhenge!"
