LOADED with all the 4-star and 5-star recruits you can handle.

9 yards rushing at the half.

This is what some Husker fans want us to go back to. Ringing in the new year with eight in the box and an opponent with a month to prepare.

Now I'll go sit back and sweat out the second half so this doesn't blow up in my face. :)

I mean, just in case anyone forgot how things were before Osborne had an all-time defense, QB, RB, and pipeline. This was the Nebraska option reality before (and after) that.

JT does not have as much help as the last 2 years - not as good a QB with less help - imaging that

It's about to happen except 3 stars and a statue QB. How many playoffs have we made vs OSU in the past 5 years? Or the next 5? I know who I'd guarantee I'd bet and win.

Exactly. I still recall a good friend whose dad was a long time ASU assistant under Kush telling me NU would never beat the Florida teams with their one dimensional offense. She was right until TO got better athletes who could match the speed of their Orange Bowl opponents. Currently, we are not only too slow but don't have the strength of those earlier Osborne teams. My only disagreement would be that the Pipeline was in place years before we added the speedy athletes that put us over the top in the Florida bowls

It wasn't just an athlete change, a switch to an attacking 4-3 was of equal importance. I think we switched to a 4-3 after 92, put in some smaller outside backers, quicker DE's and the rest was history.

Clemson'a mobile QB with their running game and defense is more Osbornesque.

Neither one of these teams look Osbornesque. Both are in the gun the majority of the time and I'm sure both are running more zone schemes and both rely on space to work.

It hasn't so far

Yep. It's why the spread/option will never work in the NFL. The spread/option is at its most basic form, 'go wherever you have a numbers advantage' This doesn't work because NFL defense have guys like JJ Watt, Justin Houston, Von Miller, Suh etc. they are so good, it doesn't matter if you have a numbers advantage because they are such destructive human beings.

Speed and space, neither which the league will allow because everyone is fast.

Are people forgetting this is a Tim Beck lead offense? Players like Ezekiel Elliot openly called him out last season for his sh*tty offensive game planning and play calling.

Meyer needs to kick him to the curb.

The way OSU runs it now and the way Nebraska ran it in the 80's and 90's is totally different. Ask Warren Sapp and his teammates or Florida.

Is that why Ohio State beat Bama a few years ago with the SAME scheme as this years team, Damon? They had better players a few years ago, but 2017 might be the year they challenge again.

That big statue of a quarterback that could actually throw a ball helped. Meyer completely lucked into that as he couldn't even figure out who his best qb on the roster was. An injury won him a title.

If you recall, his starter for most of the year (JT Barrett) was pretty damn good and they were cruising along just fine with him. They would have won with Barrett just the same.

Yea JT Barrett was cruising along just fine this year how'd that work out? They would have had NO SHOT with Barrett.

NO SHOT??? Hilarious. Barrett started for a reason, and by the end of the season, the whole team was in sync, it shows the depth Ohio State had that a third teamer (Jones was before Miller, the projected starter, got hurt for the season) came in and helped win a title. Jones got a lot of experience due to many blowouts against the likes of Kent State, Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers, Cincinnati. No shot? Good Lord.

No shot. Alabama would have abused him.
