There's always a debate on this board with fans thinking the 3-4 is terrible and how it is inferior to the 4-3. For all who either haven't had the chance to play in or coach a 3-4 or just dont understand it, watch Wisconsin against Oregon.
A few things that I love about their scheme:
-It's usually very unpredictable. Confusing for QBs and Offensive Coordinators.
-There are 4 skilled backers to help out in pass coverage or potentially blitz. Offense isnt sure which will happenon any given play.
-They consistently are able to send pressure yet still have enough men in coverage
-They can keep 4 backers on the field for their Nickel set which can be just as confusing for opposing offenses.
-They haven't needed to recruit many 4 or 5 star players to have success.
