I see Vegas has the Huskers as a 14 point favorite over the MAC West Northern Illinois.

Northern Illinois is coming off of a below .500 record last year at 5-7 and rumors are that the coach is on a somewhat warm seat.

So far this year, the team appears to hang its hat on its defense giving up only 339 yards to Boston College (in a loss) and only 187 to Eastern Illinois (60 rushing yards).

On offense, NIU is led by Sophomore QB Daniel Santacaterina, who replaced game one starter Ryan Graham to injury. The two were battling for the starting job in practice.

This provides the Blackshirts a nice opportunity to get into a rhythm while the offense may face the best defense it's seen to date. Some fans are saying this is the best defense they've seen NIU play ever.

If Nebraska's offense can perform at a high level, mixing in run and pass, I think NIU will have their hands full and this could be the feel-good victory the Huskers are sorely in need of.

I say Huskers 38 NIU 17
