Besides lack of toughness. Is we have no "step on the their throat" mentality. None at all! Zero.
Even when we aren't getting beat, the games are a nail biter to the finish. We absolutely love letting teams hang around and seeing just how close we can make the game lol.
It seems Riley teams just can't put it in another gear when they have a team down and put opponents away and feel good about a big win going into the next week. I didn't expect us to just "put away" Wisconsin last night but I do expect it again Ark. St. and Illinois.
Basically what Wisconsin did to us last night is what we lack, against any level of opponent. I never played football past highschool but I played for Kearney when we were beating down Metro teams. And when we were beating a lot of teams, by a lot of points, and it felt good! It gave us confidence and we wanted to blow teams out.
It just gets real old seeing the way we get beat and even the way we win. It's such patty cake Mr Rogers football. And when we do get beat like we did last night and the head guy is all smiles and laughter, it's pretty easy to see where or where it doesn't come from.
