Admittedly, the link is tenuous. But Bo Bridges' comments on fan hypocrisy in the Phillips thread got me thinking about the bigger picture.
It annoys me that so many Huskers are so quick to let Dr. Tom off the hook for giving "troubled" players a lot of latitude while bashing other programs like Miami for doing much the same. But it annoys me even more that the national media often gave the coastal schools a break for this while piling gleefully on Dr. Tom.
Still, what annoys me the most is that Dr. Tom brought a lot of that umbrage on himself by branding us forever in the 1984 Orange Bowl as the program which does things "the right way", when he should have just kicked the d*mn extra point and taken the national title, rather than launching Miami on its Reign of Terror.
Now, having lobbed all those grenades, I'll sit back and get your takes on such matters. It's officially the off-season now, after all...
