LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye has been released from a Wisconsin hospital after being treated for second-degree burns on his legs and receiving stitches to his head following a car crash Saturday night that took two players’ lives.

Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler were killed in the crash, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department confirmed in a news release. Their Mercedes sedan slammed into a tree and caught fire.

Delahoussaye and the players were attending a weekend kicking camp in Wisconsin.

Delahoussaye suffered second-degree burns on his left thigh, said Dwayne Delahoussaye, the kicker's father. He also received stitches to his head. Dwayne Delahoussaye spoke to The Advocate from the Atlanta airport, where he was en route to be with his son. They are scheduled to return to Louisiana on Monday.

Colby also suffered bruising around his chest, but an X-ray ruled out any lunge damage.

"Colby is OK," Dwayne said, "but it’s going to be an emotional roller coaster for him."

"Luckily, he was in the backseat," said former LSU punter Jamie Keehn, a close friend to Delahoussaye who spoke Sunday to the kicker's girlfriend.

Delahoussaye, a senior and New Iberia native, was released from Waukesha Memorial Hospital earlier Sunday is currently staying at the home of one of the clinic's leaders, John Kohl. Sadler and Foltz were instructors at Kohl's Kicking Camp in Wales, Wisconsin. Delahoussaye was a participant, but he was scheduled to serve as an instructor Sunday during the high school portion of the camp, Keehn said.
