I know people are down about the lack of improvement in the team, but let’s put that aside for a few days and DREAM.
This is like one of those drug-induced dreams you see in the movies (think Lebowski floating in space with a bowling ball.)
Let’s call it … Husker Hope-ium.
In this dream, Oklahoma players screw off all week in game prep because they think they’re going to have an easy time with us. In this dream, Frost guesses exactly right in game planning and lines up perfect plays to start the game.
Before the game, Frost finally comes up with something that lights a fire under his players to start the game while OU comes out flat. Rattler is just off and throws an early pick. An Oklahoma defender slips on a key play. And before you know it the Huskers are suddenly up 14-0. The teams trade scores again and the Huskers go into halftime with a 21-7 lead.
At halftime, Chinander brings the heat in the locker room, challenging his players to seize the moment and something transformative happens to the Husker offensive lineman as they all find their inner Bruce Banner and come out hitting like the Hulk. The Huskers put up 14 more in the second half. In the second half, Oklahoma has their share of successes but Cam Taylor-Britt plays like the lockdown corner he is, Ty Robinson, Damion Daniels, and Garrett Nelson constantly pressure Rattler, and while Oklahoma scores 24 in the second half, the Huskers score 14 to win 35-31.
