wandered over to see the OSU board just to sample reactions. Lol. All fans are the same. "Meyer can't coach offense" "JT is an average QB". "Throw out the depth chart" etc....

Losing brings out the worse in many of us.

Poor Buckeyes.... Not

Au contraire, there are fans on this board, and I would imagine the OSU board too, who don't think the sky is falling with each setback.

Actually, seems as if there are two types of fan bases - those that care, and those that don't. Those that care react to a loss in the same way, talent, coaching, heart, officiating, you name it. Those that don't care, well, don't care. Ever try to find an Illinois, Fresno St, Cal, Maryland, etc. board? If you do the last football posts were back in October. When we stop being angry about losses and bitching about them, then our program will have truly packed it in.

Amen brother. I may not agree with most of the grumblings, I am glad for the continued passion of our fans the fuels that frustration! I'd love to hear grumbling about playoff level football in our program in the near future.

Agree to an extent. No fan, casual or hardcore, likes to see their team lose. Fans can have plenty of passion without flying off the handle at every perceived downturn, screaming for new coaching staffs, ADs, etc with every loss. I guess what I'm trying to say is some passionate fans have a little more patience and more of a big picture outlook, realizing Rome wasn't built in a day. Constant griping and negativity isn't always necessarily the sign of a fan who cares more.

Case in point, OSU. I can understand why their fans were disappointed with the loss. But it was a very young team that probably over achieved to make it to the playoff. Don't think many projected them to make it that far before the season started. Can you really legitimately complain too much about it? While Urban isn't god, there aren't too many coaches you could rank above him in college football today.

Caring is not a license to be stupid. This "caring" can become an excuse for rediculous behavior and out of control blaming. When things don't go well, coaches and CEOs reasses what happened and what is in their control to fix. None of that process includes fans. Our job is to support the team, not tear it down and criticize every aspect of it. We can no more fix problems on the team with constant complaining about players, recruiting, coaches and officials than we can change those awful play calls every O coordinator makes. To me it is a bunch of wasted energy with no real goal or accomplishment. I get we are "fans" and buy tickets, clothing and some support the U but that doesn't buy rights.

Does Urban retain the WR coach? Passing game as a whole for OSU was pretty rough (except for one particular game). Imagine he'll keep him through signing day. Then the carousel of kids being locked into a school with their position coach/lead recruiter leaving begins.

OSU never had the offense in sync all season. A really good D with weeks to prepare exposed it badly. And the Buc defense against a good offense with a STUD QB could not hold up with no help. I don't think OSU played their best game - Clemson did. It happens. OSU has to shore up the oline (sound familiar) and find a QB that can run the entire offense. JT has the right skill set for Urbie's O, but he really struggled to be efficient in the pass game this year - coaching is part of it but I think just not enough good players is a bigger part (or players being consistent).

i thought our offense looked better than ohio st did vs nw and wisky

I think that it has something to do with Pelini hating the fans and trying to turn the players against the University on his way out (see: all the leaked audio).

That had nothing to do with the rest of the staff or support staff that got fired. I'm going to root for those guys. Many of them were great guys!

Beck sucked at calling plays. Not sure of his character but the old saying you are who your friends are...fair or not.
But at practices he didnt seem psycho so i bet hes an ok guy.

Guilty by association. You don't work for a guy like Pelini for very long unless you're cut from a similar cloth (there are exceptions obviously- Ron Brown being one of them).
