O'Brien and Newell...

What thread?

I honestly am surprised Newell is still here. But he really transformed his body this summer and looks like he could actually come in for a few plays if he had to.

POB needs to stay motivated, one bad hit to Lee and POB is going to have to go in. (Though, with more scholarships open, I wouldn't mind Nebraska taking a QB this class.)

Maybe I'm a little late to the party but, huh?
In another thread someone posited Gebbia overtaking POB next year and POB transferring (even suggesting it might not be a bad thing), and still another thread has Newell being jumped by a lot of young talent next year.

Of the three QB's POB is the MAN with the prototypical size, he can absorb the hits! Newell HAS changed his body and looks hungry. Both men have accomplished more athletically than the vast majority of posters. I doubt either young man is bothered too much by message board critics. Que Sera, Sera. #POBfanboy

Count me as one who is pleased as punch that we have stiff competition for the #2 QB spot as opposed to constant worrying that our #1 doesn't get off the turf after a hard hit.
With you on this; actually we all want all out players to excel. Technically our top 4 qb's right now could make a pro roster at some point. Our juco could be taking his shot; but setting himself up with an unbelievable learning and training experience to coach.
Look at our recent two D tackles that made NFL rosters, most would have called that a long shot. Though a couple frequent and top posters in my eyes; called the shot and said the team needed to get the second to reach his potentail ( Patriots ). For recruiting, besides winning, imo we are going to funnel more players into the NFL, via top position coaches. We have one heck of a program and extensive in all directions. GBR
Speculation with class, makes sense
