I had a full knee replacement 5 months ago. Tremendous pain in the hams up to hip which is normal. Therapist said the muscle from the knee to hip was like steel rods. After 4 months of pain in the hip and knee I went to a back doctor and ended up having a steroid shot in the L 4.5 disc that had a bulge. It completely stopped the pain in the hip but not in knee. I walk with normal glide (no pain) but in therapy I can't get more than 105 degree in the knee bend because of pain in the knee. Pain is like someone eating a snow cone and gets a brain freeze.

With the swelling gone down and leg flexing pretty good the therapist has come to a conclusion the pain is from the Biceps femoris tendon where it attaches into the fibular head. I would like to know if anyone had or has this problem and what remedy that helped the cure.

P.S. I have had this problem off and on for 20 years with the aching in the back of the knee. Obviously the change of my alignment of my knee has caused hell in that area.
