My son is one of the bat boys for the Storm Chasers. He just came home and was telling me how he sat with Gordo in the dugout and talked for a bit. My son is 17 and a life long Royals fan. I remember when he was like 10 asking me to watch the Royals with him - they would be like 20 games out but he would watch. It is so cool to see him now get to meet one of his hero's (Alex is his favorite player).
So far he has met Gordo, Moose (last year), Ventura, Rios and last year he talked to Manny Ramirez. Manny wanted to see his batting stance - very awesome.
He said Alex was very nice and they talked a bit about last season playoffs. Alex said - "if I was just a little faster on that triple" - my son replied "are you kidding me, you did great".
Sounds like Alex is as nice as we all assumed. Great night for my son!
