NW week PC Notes- Rahmir coming back for 6th year. Reimer back

Yeah I think I’ll tell my wife that she’ll do “FOR NOW”. 🙄
like I said, sucks for you.

Haarberg about to lead us to our first 4-1 stretch since 2018.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to be dissatisfied with while he's doing so.

PS - don't let your wife read your thoughts on alleged wife beater Mickey Joseph. otherwise it could be you staring down that "for now" barrel.

If we beat NW handily and get Purdue we might run the table. Confidence will go a long way.

Listening to the press conference today I was in agreement with most of what he said. I like the fact that it's truly day by day and game by game. The guy is a builder in mind and spirit. He is not buying into the noise positive or negative. He's said before to embrace the process, he means it. Stating that he wants to win by one score. We're gonna by Iowa like right now, and I have no problem with it. We're not good enough to be anything else as of now. It won't be pretty or exciting to most but we might just build something of a team and a program this year. I'm N. GBR !

I'm glad we have a HC coach who is willing embrace winning by whatever means it takes to get there. I absolutely hate watching Iowa play football. It's not a pretty brand of football. BUT it represents their best way at winning currently so they embrace it.

I hope eventually we aren't playing this ugly assed brand of football but at the moment it's our best way to win games. So I'm glad at least our HC understands you do what u have to do to win while you get better and more talented enough to play the style u wanna play. Kudos to him for that.

Exactly. Figure out how to win by any means necessary and worry about the method later.

Yeah. I sort of low key have that MSU game circled on my calendar. Not looking past NW or Purdue (I can't wait for the day I don't have to fvcking type that anymore) but if NU heads into that game at 5-3, then it could be the game that gets Nebraska to a bowl.

Wrong again Stalker. Doesn’t suck for me at all. I called for Sims to sit.

. I did get her a .38 for Christmas a few years back but you’re goofy.

yes, you did. it was hilarious because you called for purdy to play in the same post 😂

He may be terrible but he’s still shook. Rhule needs to look in to the eyes of HH and CP to see which one can handle the juice then put him in the game. Sims is killing us. That said putting HH here is not a fair test of him if it doesn’t go well. Personally I would go with experience in this spot ☹️

you have my pity. this has been a rough season for you and every Haarberg win just exacerbates it.

chin up!

really sucks to be you, friend. you have my pity. this has been a rough season for you.

At least I’m not wiping Haarberg’s jiz off my chin like you.

O, God forbid somebody get excited about our forlorn program finally looking ready to turn the corner under a coach who has a vision and a quarterback who can lead

keep pouting in the corner, DingleFauc

we're leaving your decrepit, clueless ass in the rearview mirror

I’m not going anywhere Stalker. I was a fan at least 25 years before your mom smacked your face for being an insufferable little prick.

Couldnt agree more.

Agreed. I want evidence that they are taking to the coaching and making fewer stupid errors/improving in season.

I want to see that we have coaches who can get around deficiencies (shitty passing for the most part, poor blocking on the edge)

100%. I do think these coaches get it though. You can tell the preparation they put in and I think at some point it is all going to click. The growing pains have sucked as we are a beaten down fanbase, but I can feel the belief building with the team. Just follow the approach one game at a time and continue to get better and we will be in good shape.

Only 3 games as a freshman in 2019 and COVID year in 2020. I guess that’s why he might get a sixth year? But who can figure out all these rules now that NIL is an enticement to encourage. some of these guys to play forever.😀
He played in 11 as a freshman .his only season cut short to injury is this one . Game 6 no medical hardship he is done.

I believe coach was saying that both Washington and Rahmir WANT to come back and play next year, but neither knows if they will be granted eligibility.

Once again appreciate Rhule's candidness. Felt like he REALLLY wanted to say the media needs to chill with all of the forward thinking, but held back and just talked about the players focusing on one week at a time. It has to be very frustrating for a coach to watch the media pepper players with these types of questions.

Also had to laugh at his comment about "some teams" that looked good and everyone was talking up the first few weeks not looking so great on the sidelines when adversity hits. Everyone will likely focus on that as a dig at CU, which it certainly is, but I'd throw USC in the mix as well as maybe a few others.
Rahmir would be eligible.Washington is done .

Coach Matt Rhule Northwestern Press Conference Notes -core group of former Alum’s come visit practice often -“we’re trying to do something greater than just win” -Coach McBride is proud of the way the team is working, “that’s validation” -Phalen Sanford is an example of what we’re trying to do -“he’s stepped up and maintained his excellence on special teams” -hard part of being HC is maintaining scholarship numbers -freshman receivers have had a great two weeks of practice -“as fast as any group in the country” -excited to see them play -significantly harder to start at WR as a freshman than other positions -the adversity in terms of injuries at WR has really sharpened Garrett McGuire -good coaches find ways to get good players on the field -when Alvano misses it’s just technical, not mental -“Pat Fitzgerald is someone I’d let my son play for” -great respect for Pat Fitzgerald as a man -NW is tough and physical, excellent 3rd down offense -Coach Cook hits up Coach Rhule when they win and lose -Coach Rhule watches as many volleyball games with his daughter as he can -“I have a knot in my stomach the whole game” during football games -“Friday night was one of the most fun experiences for me” -“walking out and their crowd booing us, I felt alive” -Excited for the opportunity to do that again -doesn’t question our effort, comes down to tackling and form -important our players understand they’re apart of something bigger
