On the contrary, some would argue that waving dicks in each others‘ faces can lead to immense cohesion, by every definition of the word.Who knew that not allowing your players to wave their dicks in each other’s faces, would lead to such team cohesion.
I understand the rationale for keeping him. On the other hand, this hire has a little bit of a Zach Arnett feel to me of a hire based upon one good season coming off tumult.

The guy can coach and they’ll probably end up on the hook for Fitz’s contract. Can there be any downside to giving this guy a shot? It’s not like he has any chance of taking them to any depths that Fitz didn’t.Teams almost always regret hiring the interim. But I just don't see how they could find a better candidate.
North Dakota State is doing a nice job of producing FBS coaches
LOL, the crying by what I assume are grown men in this thread is comical.Never been a head coach
Never coached any position at the power 5 level
likely bowl bound and plus 4 wins as compared to the team he took over at the last minute
Embarrassing how much better their team has become throughout the year when compared to what our 9 million dollar man has achieved
Pretty sure we just beat NW. Nice try troll.Never been a head coach

What would we be with their QB?non-zero chance they finish the year with a better record than Rhule despite taking over a 1-11 team like 3 weeks before their opener
good stuff
which one? they've played 4What would we be with their QB?
Better. What would we be with their QB?
Our OC's arent the ones leading the nation in turnovers...which one? they've played 4
their top 2 guys have been sacked 40x this year
our records would probably be the same if we switched QB rooms
probably would be much better if we switched OCs, though
OC no stranger in leading leagues in turnoversOur OC's arent the ones leading the nation in turnovers...
But it's a lesson to remember that the next great coaches aren't going to come up in one of those 5 second research/Google searches. This guy hadn't coached in the P5 before (I think) and he's never been a head coach. Just a DC from NDSU. But if you're good, you're good. The trouble is most of the big time fan bases expect a wow hire and just won't be satisfied with an unknown. Glad this guy was able to get his foot in the door.Pretty sure we just beat NW. The good news for him is Northwestern’s fans don’t expect much. But it's a lesson to remember that the next great coaches aren't going to come up in one of those 5 second research/Google searches. Nor should they. With this super conference bullshit, the Northwestern's of the world will basically be little more than stage props. The good news for him is Northwestern’s fans don’t expect much.
The Ohio State's, the Michigan's, and the USC's need a few warm up games.Nor should they. With this super conference bullshit, the Northwestern's of the world will basically be little more than stage props.
Maybe, don't know how he'll do longterm. Northwestern was an up and done program under Fitzgerald. They'd make the Big Ten championship then go 3-9 then make the big ten championship than go 3-9. I'll wait until this guy has a little more success before acting like he wis some coaching savant. But it's a lesson to remember that the next great coaches aren't going to come up in one of those 5 second research/Google searches. I agree. However it isn't like the top coaches are banging on Northwestern's door for the opportunity to coach there. It is a stepping stone job.Maybe, don't know how he'll do longterm.
