Huskers in 3rd place after Day 1, behind first place NC State by 3.5 points. May not be the toughest tournament all year, but a pleasant surprise after the way they have started the season. In 2nd place is South Dakota State, which the Huskers will duel on December 18 up in Brookings.

NU has 5 wrestlers into the semifinals, and 2 remaining in the consolations. Peyton Robb (157) and Mikey Labriola (174) leading the way, which is expected. Some nice surprise for the remaining 3 in the semis. Brock Hardy at 141, Lenny Pinto at 184, and Silas Allred at 197. Hardy has falls in his first 2 matches. Pinto and Allred are new to the lineup this year. To be honest, To be honest, I don't think Pinto has been in the lineup yet previously. Allred gets a rematch with Trumble of NC State, whom he lost to in an early season duel.

Ridge Lovett (149) is redshirting this year. Leaves a hole in the lineup, especially in the duels. He was NCAA runner-up last and exceeded expectations. Anyone know why he is redshirting?
