NU -6.5 over BYU O/U 64.5

I like NU in the under. I think there is so much build up of a shoot out, but if their center is out it is going to be a long game trying to handle our middle. I think we try and establish the run, and it may take a few different series to get that going leading to a lower score.

I still like the Over. Regardless of any transition for Nebraska's offense, BYU's defensive talent will be on par with teams like Illinois and Fresno State. Tommy, this offensive line, and Nebraska's skill talent have really excelled vs. that caliber of athlete the last few seasons.

I dunno about Fresno but I completely agree with Cornicator on the Illinois comparison. After watching a few BYU games that is exactly the comparison I drew as well as far as BYU's talent level.

Being the first game with a new staff and possibly being super thin at linebacker has me concerned.. but I expect a win. If it was midseason I would expect it basically over by the end of the 3rd.

I was able to put quite a bit down when the line was at -5.

Now that it's at -6.5 I'd still take Nebraska, but it's nearly impossible for me to make a non-biased wager when it comes to Nebraska football. As far as the o/u I say unders.

Don't misunderstand me. I'm not sure Nebraska covers. However, I don't think they will stop Nebraska's offense, even with a new coaching transition.

I misrepresented my point. I actually meant BYU was basically a collection of Illinois type. Talent with Fresno State's scheme. Its exactly the same defense.

Taysom Hill may be a tad rusty, but he will not be rattled.... Dude can ball...

If their QB is all that, we're going to need to bring the heat. Rattle him early and often, and the W will be ours.
problem with that is he can really move. 2 years ago ran for over 1300 yards. you bring pressure and don't get him you are looking at huge play the other way

I gotta agree with corn on this one. IMO the D is my major concern. We need to stop people. When that happens the O will take care of things

BTW, w the hell are you guys up at 5 am.

It remains to be seen, but Nebraska's defense has a lot more to prove imo. Theyre the key to the season, not Tommy like so many people seem to think.
Our lack of depth at linebacker and DE really concerns me against their QB. He can put a bunch of pressure on those guys with his legs and isn't an easy man to tackle.

My excuse is a health issue that requires some meds that cause insomnia. Thank God for NFLnet and the Husker board to pass some time when a guy is bored and too fatigued to work.

How will the current D contain the BYU QB? Will Banker need to commit extra LB's via constant blitz? That is what I will look for on D. On the O, the line seems to be the question mark thus far. If this team can mount any kind of rushing attack, it bodes will for TA and allows him to get into a rhythm.

Overall, I think a lot of this comes down to confidence. Do these players have confidence in the new D and the new O. If they struggle early, they will have doubts creep into their minds and nothing from past experience to fall back on with the new systems. A few special teams plays either way could make a big difference.

BYU blitzes early and often. Teams that blitz often times give up big plays and big points.

I also think BYU will have success moving on Nebraska's D. Over is the play.

I've tried 3mg of melatonin & will be moving upto 5mg pretty soon.

Can I change my mind? Actually, I don't even remember what I've said concerning BYU.

I think we beat any spread that Vegas wants to put out there.
