UCF is pretty good, and Dawkins' son is now eligible. Huskers got a fortunate draw in the BIG/ACC challenge, though.
I'm a sunshine pumper, but at this point that looks like a pipe dream. I think there's talent there, but I've thought that the last few years and it just keeps starting over.10 with a win over KU and 9 wins in conference. That could put them on the right side of the bubble.
It's like... a for sure thingAnyone that thinks Nebraska is going to beat Kansas in December is drinking some high quality H20 or Kool-Aid.
McVeigh really improved dramatically last season as a shooter. He should be even more valuable going forward.
McVeigh shot 35% from the field as a freshman, including 34% from the 3-point line.
Last year he shot 37% from the field, including 34% from the 3-point line. He did shoot better in the second half of the season than in the first, so perhaps that's what you are referring to. But it's hard for your shooting percentage not to go up when you're knocking down 20 to 25% of your shots early in the year.
Not looking good for Copeland to be eligible but you never know with the NCAA. If we can find a way to get two wins at the Advocare Invitational we should be able to find a way to get 9 wins.
Well, it is true that NU has always given Kansas unexpected problems at home. Still... a respectable showing and a win over Creighton would make me quite happy.
This is the year that the shots start falling.
12-1 or even 13-0

So youre tellin me Miles is gone after next year then.Nebraska won't beat KU this season. However, if there was a ever a year to get the Jayhawks in Lincoln, its 2017-18. This is probably KUs least experienced roster of the last 4 to 5 seasons. And playing them in December is definitely an advantage for the Huskers.
I noticed CBS sports picked Nebraska last in the Big Ten. If that did come into fruition, it would be Tim's worst coaching performance. On paper, this roster will be his most talented.
If he can't at least earn an NIT bid, he should get the axe. And if a team like this with 6 former top 100 players, a 5 star, and five former 4 stars, finishes last in the league, then I don't think Miles should ever coach at the High Major level again.
Roby and Jordy should be improved in year 2.
Glynn Watson should have some scoring help from a versatile roster. And teams shouldn't just feel compelled to pack the lane.

Evan Taylor is a solid leader and defender.
Gill returns from the injury.
But the additions of Palmer, Copeland, Allen, and Atenken will really be a major momentum shot for this team. These 4 players will give the team a talent infusion the roster has never really received.
I truly believe Eichorst looked at these new players and it saved Tim's job last year. I think he felt Miles deserved one more year because of this incoming talent.
10-3 In the non con should be expected.
Then go .500 in the league. The roster is good enough for that expectation.
Given Miles' history against McDermott, I'm thinking a tick mark in the L column is fairly certain.
Tim Miles says "hold my beer"Wow, NU could start conference play 0-6
Ha...I know I know.Tim Miles says "hold my beer"
Hope we catch lightning in a bottle. Talent is there thats for sure by your post. Thanks.I follow Nebraska Basketball very closely as most of you probably already know.. cough.. cough huskerbaseball13
Anyway, with that said there are a lot of things to like about this seasons team, but there are so many unknowns it makes this years football team look to be all knowing
The only 100% known in Glynn Watson
The rest are all ?'s
Roby: I have never been higher on a Nebraska basketball player in my life. The kid has all the tools to be a star at Nebraska... I have been quoted saying he has a chance to be a star at the Next level too. His outside shot and confidence improve this young man will be drafted no doubt in my mind. He is above average at every aspect of basketball and excellent at a few. Having Roby makes me feel good about our chances at making some noise. Will he develop confidence or not that is question #1.
Jordy: We all saw it last year toward the end of the year that he was coming into his own and turned into our best option at the post. I feel strongly that the departures of Morrow and Jacobson had a lot to do with Jordy and his play at the end of the year. That was minutes getting taken away from those two. Add in Copeland and Duby our front court looks better than before... will it be that is the second question?
Newcomers: We have 6 new faces this year that will see a lot of PT, that is a ridiculous amount which in itself is a huge question mark. All, but two were highly acclaimed coming out of High School
Nana 4* on multiple sites
Duby(Not highly Acclaimed)
Copeland 5*
Palmer 4*
Allen 4* ESPN Top 100
Thor(Not highly acclaimed)
That is a lot of star power, but not a lot of experience together. How will they mesh, that is the third question?
Copeland: When will he get to play? Question #4... Will he be able to play up to his potential? Question #5
Gill: Will he be a factor in this years team, because the small sample size we got out of him last year was nothing to write home about. He was electric coming out of high school, and was highly sought after. Can he play up to his true potential, or will he be a bench warmer That is the 6th question?
Allen: Will he come in and be a back up ball handler or are we looking at him playing the two. How will he perform as a true freshman, and what will his role be That is question #7
I have a few more questions about Palmer and Nana, but I have to get back to work so I'll leave it at this. If this team plays together, and they play to their full potential there is no doubt they can make the NCAA's, but it they play like they are unfamiliar with each other, and we play hero ball like every other year under Miles we will be in for a LOOOOOOONG season or crap!
