From the article:
Q: Speaking of Nebraska, I need you to explain this Nebraska lunchtime delicacy that is cinnamon rolls and chilli.
A: (Laughs) “I have honestly no real idea where it came from, but we do eat cinnamon rolls with our chilli. I don’t mix the two, I’m not one of those types of people, but I think it’s one of those things where there’s a lot of baking in Nebraska. Someone must have just had a cinnamon roll fresh made and they had chilli in the winter and it must have started from there. Obviously it’s really good. It’s got a little bit of a sweet tooth element to it I think because it’s not a dinner roll or anything. It’s usually a cinnamon roll with frosting and everything and I have a big sweet tooth, so I’m not complaining. It’s a good mix for me. I honestly can’t explain that because I’m from Nebraska, so I didn’t know that was weird.”

Ok, so I didn't know that this was a Nebraska thing... and I don't understand why people would think it is weird to eat a cinnamon roll with your chili... but I have rarely ever eaten chili without a cinnamon roll!
My wife is from Wyoming (far NW corner) and she always had them together growing up, whether at school or at home.
Also, who spells chili with two L's?
