The kids we had in aren't lacking for quality offers. They will take their time. Now that parents come with recruits could that be why we haven't gotten any? Maybe parents want their kids to slow it down? No idea just wondering why we didn't get any verbals.
No, it is not excuses. It is the reality. If you paid any attention to this beforehand, we were warned not to expect any immediate commits from this because most of these highly rated players make late decisions. Pay attention to what is going on and what people in the know say about this stuff before you start criticizing.Excuses. At least one of these kids should have pulled the trigger by now. Stop sugar coating this. We probably are going to be lucky to get two commits out of that group that visited
Ok. Good advice. Sorry to be so cynical. I guess after the past 8 years or so I have lowered expectations. No, it is not excuses. It is the reality. Why decide now when you can make 4 all expense paid trips to wherever?
I would settle for two out of that groupNo, it is not excuses. It is the reality. Maturity; and in truth any team would be happy with two from that group. We are running out of scholies - lol ; realize a few more and it will feel like it. I believe we are already being selective. If you see a three star being allowed to commit now; you can bet the coaches feel they can coach him up to a five. GBRI would settle for two out of that group
I thought John Raridon was a big guy, but he looks tiny compared to Foster Sarell.I would have to think that Offensive Tackle is our #1 target
I laughed. They all tried to commit, but the coaches told them to go home and think about it first.
Foster Sarell, OT, from (far out) Suburbia Seattle made his visit last Saturday. ND, Bama, Stanford, UW, Michigan have offers out there for him as well. I would love to see him go to Lincoln, but I think it is a long shot.
Going to be tough for any school to pull him away from UW, especially if they have a good season.

But, but but... were we not told above not to worry since these kind of recruits don't commit until they see all options? How then does Ohio State already have 10 such commits?? I am sooo confused now! You mean I was right to worry after all that so far we have ZERO commits from last Saturday? HmmmmWell, 61 of the top 100 are committed including 10 to Ohio State.

I am not struggling to understand one bit. I get it.But, but but.... you're really struggling to understand what people are saying.

Big time recruits often wait to pull the trigger so there is no need to panic and certainly no need to start criticizing these coaches after they worked so hard to get this elite group to campus.

One thing to consider is the West Coast kids tend to take things later into the process than kids from the rest of the country - this is not just a personal observation but one that the "gurus" mention often. I don't know why exactly...but in addition to the normal trend, not having a dominant USC makes a few more players available. But, but but... were we not told above not to worry since these kind of recruits don't commit until they see all options? Ok fine. Don't want to argue. I edited my last post and added a few lines. Please read. No, you don't and here's why.
You claim the above but earlier said.
As I said, you don't get it.

I said above at the top that we may get two recruits out of that group. I would be happy with that.
And in the interests of civil conversation, what is your best guess on how many will eventually commit?
Well first of all, parents coming on these trips is not new...it being paid for is which allows more parents to come. Second, to your hypothesis...it's actually could be a two way street. Sure, in some cases that could happen (as in slowing it down) but it also could speed it up because there is no need to go home and "discuss it with the parents" and/or take a second trip to show it them. My guess is that the two scenarios even each other up over time. Now that parents come with recruits could that be why we haven't gotten any? Maybe parents want their kids to slow it down? To add to that, yes many commit to Ohio state, etcetera, but those also know where the program is. They are in more of a wait and see attitude on where nebraska is progressing. One thing to consider is the West Coast kids tend to take things later into the process than kids from the rest of the country - this is not just a personal observation but one that the "gurus" mention often. Now on the flip side of that...a lot of kids in the South East tend to "commit" earlier...but that is just more them announcing who their current leader is and giving other programs a school to target...so you might want to see how some things play out.
Ha. Well, in your defense after rereading my first posts I realized I allowed sarcasm to obscure the point I was trying to make. My bad entirely. Because as it stands it does appear to be all over the map. So you were right to call me out.I'm not trying to argue, it seemed you've been all over the place. I actually triple checked your account name before responding to make sure it's the same poster.
One for sure, possibly two. As far as the top end guys, I have patience with them as it's obvious we are doing something right just to get them here in the first place. We can't strong arm the top end guys or they'll eliminate us immediately. We're not in a position to do it and until we are, it is what it is.
At the party I was at Saturday for the game, one of the guys mentioned what Mike Farrell said about our visitors over the weekend. Our visit list reminded him of what Pete Carroll had for official visitors at USC. Sit and think about that. Seriously, and I honestly hope I didn't butcher what Farrell said.
And the stuff from Farrell is encouraging to say the leastI'm not trying to argue, it seemed you've been all over the place. I actually triple checked your account name before responding to make sure it's the same poster.
