NFL Scouts are fond of Husker Center Ryne Reeves..

Shame he's had trouble staying healthy through much of his career. If he'd been able to go just a little more often and got his snapping down then he would have been ahead of Pelini in everything early last year, not just most things. Thurston's not THAT far behind Reeves either, he'll be very good next year.

Reeves should have started every game he was healthy last year, and Kondolo probably should have started mid-season on. Our OL could be a lot better than people just counting returning starters think.

Reeves stays healthy and he could be our best center since at least Jacob Hickman. Best before that was probably John Garrison. Which is going back too far to find a really good center to compare to.

Injuries aside, Reeves still played over 300 snaps. There was no logical reason for him to be on the sideline while injured. THurston is even a better option to Pelini, JR.

Go rewatch the Miami game. THere are plays where Reeves and Chongo just completely road graded the Hurricane oline and reached Perryman with force in the second level.

I don't understand how any coach could've watched that film and felt Pelini and Moudy were better options.

Yeah, last year it was awful to see Mark Pelini in there over Reeves. Made no sense whatsoever. Move on though. Glad he is going to be paving the way for us this year.

Reeves will be tested this game. BYU's Travis Tuiloma is on the Outland and Nagurski watch lists (Reeves is somehow not on the Rimington watch list where Pelini was last year) and Tuiloma will be at 3-4 nose tackle usually lined up directly in front of Reeves.

If Reeves can handle him one-on-one most of the time and we can get any kind of inside run game early it will take a lot of pressure of Tommy.
