Disappointing to hear that Decker is likely choosing to not come back. Bad news due to:
1. Losing a capable player (who has 2 years of eligibility remaining) at a key position.
2. Having to move another player (presumably Farmer) from guard weakens that depth.
3. Puts a lot of pressure on Farmer to become proficient quickly at a new position.
4. Increases the risk of an injury hurting the team's success this fall.

I understand that if a guy's heart really isn't in it it is dumb to push him to do something he doesn't want. Especially in football where desire is a huge element of success. But the kid did get 3 years of college paid for and there is an obligation to fulfill his end of the bargain.

This is mitigated by the fact that we are fortunate to have Boe Wilson available to fill in at guard. I believe he is a highly regarded backup. But I was hoping BW would get lots of playing time at guard giving Foster & Farmer some rest in the new high tempo offense.

I hope that Raridon is in position to put in some really quality playing time this fall. And I do think there is a big chance Farmer does really well at center.

We shall see. Anyway, it's still disappointing.
