why do the #2 seeds get the Saturday games giving them an extra day of rest/prep for the potential conference championship game vs the number one seeds that play on Sunday?

Sorry to be a bit off topic, but...

Is Andy Reid aware that NFL games only have four quarters? For a guy who's had a fair amount of success in his career, inept clock management seems to follow him around like a bad habit. Chiefs probably don't win anyway, but for God's sake give yourself a chance.

He is likely the worst I have ever seen. Combined with Alex Smith makes it way worse.

For a team that played so well for so long, today was really hard to stomach. The Chiefs had every opportunity to win that game - but they were kicking FG's while the Pats were scoring TDs. Then, the ridiculous clock management in the final 3 minutes....wow.

It is partially clock management and partially they don't have the players to stretch the field with no Charles and no Maclin.

The easy fix would be to have the AFC on Saturday, and the NFC Sunday. But then again, this is the NFL, and for a business that could be run by monkees and still make money, they appear determined to screw it up.

The one's had last weekend off so not sure why this bothers you.

not bothered at all just wondering ..... the #2 seeds had last week off as well

if I were a #1 seed I would like the opportunity for my players to get Sunday as an extra recovery day and for my entire coaching staff to scout the Sunday game. Playing Saturday amounts to an extra day of prep - recovery - injury therapy which is a big deal in the NFL. As it stands now the #2 seeds are afforded this advantage if they win.

Yes, I'm nut suggesting that the Chiefs were the better team or that they should have won the game. But they had first-and-goal at the 2-yard line with nearly three minutes left, down by 14 points, and played with absolutely no urgency at all. If they had managed that series with any competence, they could have kicked the ball deep with 2+ minutes left and had a chance to get the ball back. But they looked completely lost and forced themselves into an onside kick.
