Interesting article in OWH today summarizing the stats of former midlands B-ballers who are playing overseas. I had no idea that some of these guys were still playing.... some of these guys bring back some "interesting" memories:

Former Huskers:

Ryan Anderson, London Lightning (Canada): 16.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists

Deverell Biggs, Rochester Razorsharks (PBL): 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists

Steffon Bradford, St. Vallier (France): 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists

Adrien Coleman, Noerdlingen (German): 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists

Jorge Bryan Diaz, Soles (Mexico): 1.0 points, 4.0 rebounds

Jason Dourisseau, Donar Groningen (Netherlands): 12.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists

Kris Douse, Westfalen Mustangs (Germany): No stats available

Kimani Ffriend, Dynamic BG (Serbia): 18.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists

Rayes Gallegos, Abejas (Mexico): 10.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists

Sek Henry, Gravelines (France): 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists

Lance Jeter, Donar Groningen (Netherlands): 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists

Aleks Maric, Sydney Kings (Australia): 5.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists

Toney McCray, Anwil (Poland): 7.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists

Josiah Moore, Niagara River Lions (Canada): 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.7 assists

Terran Petteway, The Flexx Pistoia (Italy): 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists

Walter Pitchford, Olimpi (Georgia): 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists

David Rivers, Rostock (Germany): 5.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.6 assists

Shavon Shields, Fraport Skyliners (Germany): 13.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists

Former Creighton Players:

Will Artino, Horsens IC (Denmark): 12.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists

Devin Brooks, Windy City Bulls (NBA D-League): 1.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists

Justin Carter, Maccabi K/G (Israel): 12.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists

Gregory Echenique, Guaros (Venezuela): 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists

Grant Gibbs, BiG Oettinger Rockets (Germany): 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists

Geoffrey Groselle, Braunschweig (Germany): 9.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.9 assists

Kenny Lawson, Virtus Bologna (Italy): 19.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists

Jahenns Manigat, Giessen 46ers (Germany): 4.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists

Dane Watts, BiG Oettinger Rockets (Germany): 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists

Booker Woodfox, Cape Breton Highlanders (Canada): 16.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists

The article is mainly about Korver and McDermott, but I thought these stats were the most interesting aspect of the article. Jeter and Dourisseau on the same team in Holland. Gibbs and Watts on the same team in Germany. Kimani still rocking it! One of my personal favorites.

If you arent NBA caliber doing this for a decade or so would be pretty awesome...as long as you get paid...the financial stability of some of those clubs is poor at best

I knew a guy that played football in Germany for a couple years. He loved it. It's a great way to see the world and get paid to do so.

Kimani Ffriend. Athletic big man who liked to run. Recruited by Nee, had to play on Barry Collier Slow Pace game. Wish we had him now.

In many countries they money they make is tax-free. Also, a lot of the European clubs will pay for players' lodging, transportation, and other expenses. So they pretty much get to bank everything they earn.

Regardless, it's nice to see so many of Sadler's former players still playing. Though where is Brandon Ubel on the list? Pretty sure he is playing in Belgium. I think Standhardinger is somewhere in Europe too. Makes me wonder where some of the other guys are at now, such as Ade Dagunduro, Andre Almeida, Bo Spencer, Caleb Walker, and Brandon Richardson?

Steffon Bradford still plays and averages 18.5 ppg Eek. I bet he throws players around in that French League like rag dolls.

Wow, I guess I never heard that. He has to be looking at some serious jail time.

I know at one time I remember hearing that he got sentenced to 3 years in prison. Not sure if he served it or if he has been appealing.

Yeah it would be interesting to see a "Where are they now" for a lot of these players. Man I remember that season where I think Dagunduro was a senior. We had some really good players but no one about 6'6 I believe... we beat Texas that year despite a huge height disadvantage

I know Marcus Perry is the girls coach at Lincoln High now. They've won more games this year already than they have probably the last 5 years combined. Pretty sure Steve Harley is a counselor and coach at a school in inner-city Washington DC where he's from. Cookie Miller actually started a Summer League in his hometown that raises money for the community and keeps kids out of gangs. Say what you want about Doc, but he coached and recruited a lot of good dudes who are now giving back to their communities. That "short" team we had came so close to the NCAA tournament. I've never seen a team with more heart.
