I like Tim Miles. I like our team.
Their play/execution is the most frustrating thing I have ever seen.
Anyone who pays any attention to analytics in basketball over the last 5 years knows a couple of things:
1) There are mountains of data on the most 'efficient' shots in basketball;
2) The most efficient shot selection is in the lane, or outside of the 3 point line; and
3) This team is committed to step in and take shots just inside the 3 point line.
By efficient, we mean - GETTING THE MOST POINTS PER POSSESSION.
We step in and take a shot that is nearly as hard, for 33% less points CONSISTENTLY. Even when you make that shot, it is a bad shot.
If Miles is smart, he should know this, but this team does not get any points inside and shoots WAY too many inside the arc mid-range/long jumpers.
