Have watched him play quite often. He is athletic and quick. Could never figure out whether he was better suited playing the point or off guard for the Hawkeyes. In Iowa City he had a lot of teammates that loved to take 3's so he never seemed to take many nor did his coaches seem to encourage it. He started plenty of games but was always jerked off the floor so that his son, Connor, would get plenty of mintues. It always seemed to me that he and Fran were at odds. If he came to Lincoln it would be quite the slap toward Fran. But I could see him much rather playing for Fred. I actually think he would be a very good fit at the point for the roster Fred has coming back. He can play either point or off guard. Can be a very good on ball defender due to his quickness. I felt his biggest strength was blowing by people and getting to the glass or the rim. Hard to say what his assist-to-turnover ratio would be because Iowa didn't feature him that way. He has a brother that is a heck of a talent. I would actually love to see him come to UNL because he would check most of the boxes Fred is looking for.Transfer Guard from the Hogeyes. Thoughts? His stats won’t blow you away but that might be one of the reasons he’s leaving Iowa. Something tells me he would like to shoot the ball from time to time.Have watched him play quite often. I’m not trying to sound harsh but are you sure you were watching the right guy? If Nebraska wants to make a run at the NCAA tournament, this can’t be a starter for you guys.Have watched him play quite often. He is athletic and quick. He isn’t very good.. Don’t want this guy, be like Petras transferring to Nebraska..Transfer Guard from the Hogeyes. Thoughts? Ahron Ulis
According to one site I looked at he played the most minutes of any player on your team and played in every game. Fred needs somebody who can play point either as a starter or backup and his B1G experience is a plus.I’m not trying to sound harsh but are you sure you were watching the right guy? Define good. If he can defend and run the point we need him. We’re running out of options and with his experience he could help.He isn’t very good.. Don’t want this guy, be like Petras transferring to Nebraska..

He was one of their worst players last year on their team..Define good. If he can defend and run the point we need him. We’re running out of options and with his experience he could help.
He missed one game. Started 27 out of 32 he appeared in. 5th on the team in MPG (.2 MPG than Patrick who didn’t start and played a different position). Possibly the worst shooter on the team outside Filip Rebraca who shot 0 threes. Tied for 5th on the team for steals. Not a rebounding threat. Can’t finish at the rim if he even gets that far.According to one site I looked at he played the most minutes of any player on your team and played in every game. So we're competing against a team that has been in a Final Four in the last few years. Sounds good to me, a Nebrasketball fan of 61 years. There is a reason his other option is Loyola-Chicago.
Right now Fred needs to find a physically ready back up point guard. I think we have 4-5 scholarships open at least so taking him wouldn’t be the end of the world. I think he’s a one and done rental. The fact that he’s interested in nebraska should disqualify him, or anyone else who is for that matter.
Do not want those level players.

There is a possibility that not playing for a screaming lunatic could bring out something more in Ulis. He had to have brought something to the table in practice, for Fran to start him in nearly 30 games. I just wouldn't get my hopes up that he's going to be an impact player.Right now Fred needs to find a physically ready back up point guard. I didn't say he was an all conference type player. Nor a great shooter. He is quick and athletic and can play good defense when he chooses to. Fran started him 27 games for a team that made the NCAA tournament. Maybe he felt obligated to do that until it was time to put his son on the floor. I still can't tell if he was a decent distributor of the basketball even when he was playing the point.I’m not trying to sound harsh but are you sure you were watching the right guy?
