Obviously nobody is happy with the B1G leadership right now. Nor how they have targeted Nebraska negatively these last 10 years. My question is what options do we have? What would be the best for us as a program and University as a whole.

Option #1 Leaving for another Conference
The Good- We could find a conference that more aligns with Nebraska views, politics, and football goals. We would have a conference that hopefully isn't trying to shove us down every chance. I don't think we would have any issue have many takers on wanting us to join their conf.
The Bad- Every conference is going to have its problems and issues. The hassle involved in changing conferences. Less money. The B1G is one if not the largest revenue producing conf. Let alone all the grants ect we would lose out on.

Option #2 Staying in the B1G
The Good- As stated above the money we recieve is probably larger than we would get anywhere else. We have a conference that is solid and we shouldn't have to worry about it breaking and us being homeless.
The Bad- We have never seemed to really mess or fit well in the B1G. It has really hurt us recruiting wise. The B1G has continually treated Nebraska as the outsider and done everything in its power to make sure we stay in the mud. Will that change? Can it change? Hard to stay in a place where you aren't wanted.

Option #3 Go independent
The Good- Lets us create our own schedule. Lets us run our programs how we see fit and not be dictated by the whims of a liberal conference. Everything we make we get to keep. No sharing with other teams.
The Bad- Similar to leaving the conf, our finances would probably take a hit, but by how much? Sometimes money isn't everything.

IMO I thin going independent would be the best option for Nebraska as long as revenue would stay similar.

I don't doubt the screws are being put to Nebraska by voicing concerns over COVID. But not a whole lot different than everyone else in the B1G not named Ohio State.

Nebraska fans act like the B1G needs us or really cares that much about us at this point, all we've done is lose football games, whine, and threaten to take our ball and go home. . If we left, they wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep and after all our whining they'd prolly be glad to see us go. Put your big girl pants on, stop freaking whining about everything, and win some gawd damn football games.

There is a fitment issue.

Nebraska doesn't give a crap about academics, not like the league does. Nebraska cares about football, something the league doesn't care about.

There will always be this problem, and the perceived bad treatment will only get worse, and grow into the kind of drama we don't really want.

Just exit the league and go back to the Big 12, say there was a fitment issue, and most everyone will understand that.

That is the way forward.

Throw your nasty ass Big 10 girl pants in the laundry. F*ck the Big 10. Time to go home.

In being and independent, you will run into the same issues that schools like Navy, Army, BYU and Notre Dame have - scheduling. When everyone gets into their regular conference schedule - there are not open dates to accommodate scheduling independent teams. That's why you see all of those schools align themselves, at least in part, with conferences.

Question, did Wisconsin on their big boy pants when they refused to play? By put on our big boy pants”. You mean take all the shit, accept less than and be quiet. That’s how you really think successful people go through life? No we need to stand up for ourselves and for what’s right.

And how are we supposed to win some dam football games, when we can’t even play? Doesn’t matter, just accept more bullshit and be happy about it.

Seems like the Iowa Klansmen have some room on the bandwagon, maybe you would fit in better over there.

We should endure these "slings and arrows" and persevere until we become the perennial class of the West. A man doesn't run away when adversity or injustice befalls him.

Any new kiddie porn pushers for you guys this year?

Wisky has to live with what they did, and that is, and was, out of our control. I'll be damned if I'm going to support shooting ourselves in the foot because Wisky wussed out this weekend. If we go elsewhere do you think we're going to agree with every decision in said new conference to?

Lol we aren't Notre Dame. Stability and financial security in the B1G is what we need, we waited a few years just for our damn fair share of revenue. We can't jump ship again. It sucks now but we are not going anywhere. At least we get revenue generated by other B1G games this weekend. It does feel like KW is out to get us, chuckling at us while the rest of the conference gets to play their second game of the season. Go to watch the whiners get their sh!t kicked in, and second game canceled.

For some reason, I don’t think the league commissioner paid $5M year should be petty and vindictive and out to get one league school. But maybe I’m just crazy.

Of course not, but that doesn't mean we didn't became a thorn in KW's side during this whole debacle. That new schedule we got seems pretty vindictive, we didn't shut up and play by B1G's rules.

KW needed some birdshot in his side, not a thorn. And in his vindictive decision making, he screwed the pooch again with an 8 game schedule with no Bye's baked in.

But is it really Warren that's being petty and vindictive? Or is it the other schools' presidents and chancellors?

Going independent isn’t an option . Let’s get this notion out of our heads..

Because they wanted the entire thing canceled and we pushed the issue? They HATE Nebraska for that.

You don’t know that for a fact and Ohio St wanted to play as bad as Nebraska.. just like I’m convinced Warren has it out for us but I can’t prove that‘s fact as well except everything we have asked for has been turned down like a bed sheet..

I don’t believe for second there was a vote taken this morning...

The yahoo article said a vote DID NOT take place this morning because every President was universally against it.

And yes, I know how left wingers in academic administrations think. Nothing is more important than shutting everything down to hurt the economy and hurt people, until November 3rd at least.

OKay, according to Jay Greeson he said “ according to a source close to the discussions, the Big 10 voted against it this morning...

So which is it!

I find it funny how people think nebraska needs the Big10 because of the media revenue. We bring more to the table than we get back. Don't shortchange our fan draw, its huge and still carries a lot of weight. If we were to go back to the Big12, it would rival the Big10s media contract and we wouldn't have to put up with the BS we do now.

All you who think going independent is a good idea better talk to BYU fans. They would do anything and spend any amount of money necessary to be in a Power 5 conference.

You know what I think Nebraska needs to do? Starting winning some football games. Every conference has top teams that control the agenda. Once Nebraska starts winning some game the Huskers will have a bigger voice. Will they ever have more power than Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. I doubt it, but it at least would give them a fighting chance.

"We could find a conference that more aligns with Nebraska views, politics, and football goals" What fantasy conference is this? Nebraska from where I stand way out here in the Northwest aligns itself up better with the Big Ten than any other conference including the Big 12.

I hope the Nebraska administration is smarter than some of our fans. If the Huskers get booted from the Big Ten it looks like a Group of 5 conference will become their home. (Hey Boise is only 7 hours from me. If the Huskers end up in the Mountain West you can all join me in the Bronco's 30,000 seat stadium. Blue carpet and all. It's nice, but it is not the horseshoe.

News alert. No one outside of our alumni and fans cares about Nebraska football. We get zero respect. I went to a ophthalmologist today for the first time. He went to Utah and then went to Creighton Medical School. I had on a red Nebraska hat with Herbie on the front. He took one look at me and said what I've heard so many times, "Nebraska use to be a great team". God! am I ever sick of hearing that.
