Nebraska assistant men’s basketball coach Nate Loenser has been selected as one of the participants at the 2025 Silver Waves Media Future Head Coach Power Lunch this April in San Antonio, Texas.
The event features 75 assistant coaches from around the country and provides them with opportunities to meet with Athletic Directors, Associate ADs and search firms during the lunch format during the week of the NCAA Final Four. Last year’s class included 10 assistants who went on to receive Division I head coaching positions.
Loenser is in his fourth season with the Husker men’s basketball program and has helped Nebraska improve its defense in each of the last three seasons. He plays an extensive role in nearly every facet of the program, including leading the Huskers’ individual skill development programs and opponent scouting while helping with game planning and recruiting. He has helped four players earn All-Big Ten honors over the last three seasons, including a pair of Huskers in 2024. Before joining the Husker program, he spent the previous five seasons with the Chicago Bulls, including three seasons as an assistant coach for Fred Hoiberg and Jim Boylen. His coaching emphasis was on the offensive end, while he also handled opponent scouting for select teams and worked extensively in player development
The Huskers are 14-8 on the season, including four ranked wins this season. Nebraska returns to action on Wednesday night when the Huskers travel to Washington. Tipoff is set for 9:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on BTN and carried on the Huskers Radio Network.
