I don’t cheer for Illinois at anything. In particular against Indiana because a better Indiana team will be a better bolster to the resume than the win over Illinois.
I’m thinking more along the lines of conference standings. With that said Indiana still has OSU X 2, Purdue, and MSU. So it should work itself out.I don’t cheer for Illinois at anything. Gotcha. I think quality wins at this point are what we should worry about. Standings will take care of themselves.I’m thinking more along the lines of conference standings. With that said Indiana still has OSU X 2, Purdue, and MSU. So it should work itself out.
Transfer only happens if Miles is gone. (disclaimer, I know nothing about whether he would qualify as a graduate transfer or not.)Odds Palmer is wearing a Nebraska jersey next season?
He's already transferred once and I don't think he'll be able to graduate by next season so I would say pretty good...that is unless he decides to go pro. He needs to be a little more consistent to do that iMO and another year of being the Huskers leading scorer and an all B1G selection next year would be his best bet to get drafted.Odds Palmer is wearing a Nebraska jersey next season?
I don't think Miles being here or gone either way makes any difference with Palmer. .Transfer only happens if Miles is gone. (disclaimer, I know nothing about whether he would qualify as a graduate transfer or not.)
If Miles is still here, he only serves to improve his draft-ability. There are too many guys with his size in the NBA right now. If he can learn to put this team on his back and take them into a run in the NCAA tournament, that might be more valuable to boost his NBA potential
So that's the long version. Short version: 90% likelihood.

I do think most of these guys are having fun this year and enjoy playing with each other. Glynn is having a tough season. He's not very big and he just gets beaten up almost every game. It was good to see him have a reasonably good night tonight.Would not hold it against any kid if they can get paid to play. Not like that window stays open forever.

Palmer is a better player than Petteway IMO and another year would help him. The guy I would worry about transferring is Allen. We HAVE to get him on the floor more. That's why earlier I said I'm worried he could pull a Petteway and go play overseas, if he finishes his degree he might want to go get paid. Not sure he has NBA Draft potential even with another year.
What we actually need is way less Jordy, and a valid reason why OKeke does not get an occasional run. Jordy can't jump over a crack in the sidewalk, makes stupid fouls, has no moves, can't catch the ball, and is slow.Palmer is a better player than Petteway IMO and another year would help him. Yeah I really think Palmer could play his way into the draft by staying another year, but it's easy to say that as a fan. If he can get paid to play somewhere next year, who can fault him for that?Would not hold it against any kid if they can get paid to play. Not like that window stays open forever.
My guess is that Miles is trying to keep him happy because Okeke is gone next year and you have to have a couple of big bodies around for some teams in the B1G. 6-11 and that strong is hard to find. Jordy has shown some flashes. I just don't think he's a very smart player sometimes. He is in fact relatively new to basketball so there's room to grow. What we actually need is way less Jordy, and a valid reason why OKeke does not get an occasional run. Other than that, he's great.

So a kids feelings are more important than playing a kid that could help now? I'm just guessing because I've said before that I thought Okeke should play more. On the other hand, he had 2 stupid illegal screen fouls in a row against OSU that cost us dearly. He's a big bodied rim protector for sure and better rebounder than Jordy. Jordy gives at least a little more hope of some offense from the spot because about the only way Okeke can score is with dunks. .So a kids feelings are more important than playing a kid that could help now? Okeke's post move is a shoulder in to the chest followed by a dunk..if okeke had ever shown anything, then maybe, but he hasnt. miles put him in against osu and i think he had 2 fouls and a turnover in one minute of action. occasionally, jordy will at least show us a post move and score a bucket. i dont think okeke even has a post move.
Copeland's pretty slender to spend too much time down low, but both of them if isolated down there can score it. They are a REALLY nice tandem and play well together.I'd like to see them put palmer and cope on the block more. palmer had a nice post up of sanders and missed an easy little jumper over him but that was good offense.

So good to see Roby being aggressive
I'm just having a lot of fun watching the talent we have on the floor. Yeah I wish we would have finished several games better but man what an uptick just from the standpoint of seeing guys do things I wish I could have done back in the day. Palmer one on one is almost unstoppable and really fun to watch. Watson and Copeland when they have it going are a treat too. Roby? He's going to play in the NBA if he keeps improving the way he has the past year.our best offense is screen roll with those two.
Jordy is doing, and has done nothing on offense. And he quit on his team once already. It's simple. Play the athletic kid, not the one who may pout.I'm just guessing because I've said before that I thought Okeke should play more. Very unselfish guy and you just wished you had a couple more like him on the bench. Only going to get better.i feel like he's been a little disappointing on the offensive end of late. he had been showing a nice little midrange game earlier in the season, but that has gone away. his offense prob is going to suffer when he has to play the 5 and bang all game long on D. He was fantastic on D tonight, i thought.
Which is at the very least aggressive. Has Jordy ever dunked? I honestly can't remember if so.Okeke's post move is a shoulder in to the chest followed by a dunk..
Yep, can't overlook the Hawkeyes. They are riding an epic one-game winning streak.Very satisfying win now let’s take care of Iowa.
yeah he has and he's shown a few pretty sweet low post moves. He's blocked some shots and got some rebounds too. The bottomline is that right now neither Jordy or Okeke are great players but obviously Jordy has the potential to get better for us in the future assuming he sticks around. We need him to stick around unless we can find a better grad transfer this summer (not likely).Which is at the very least aggressive. Has Jordy ever dunked? I honestly can't remember if so.
I watched some of that game and unfortunately the Hawkeyes looked like they may figured some things out.Yep, can't overlook the Hawkeyes. They are riding an epic one-game winning streak.
Been saying this all season. For sure if Jordy is in at the end, because everyone has to help so much on the post because he just can't guard.I'd like to see Okeke used in some defense/offense situations late in the game, the way Miles often uses Evan Taylor. But if NU is going to with a smaller lineup, everyone just needs to make a better commitment to rebounding. Tonight, for example, Watson and Palmer each got 4 defensive boards, several of which led to fast break opportunities. If NU wants to get out and run more, that's one way to make it happen.
