The last decade shows how far our program has fallen through our Football History...

For Iowa fans they finished this decade with a winning percentage .623.. Their best decade was .694 from 1920-29 and Hayden Fry best decade was from 1980-89 with a winning pct of .652.

Just putting things in Respective!

Don’t sweat it, Iowa will come up with some type of excuse or formula that justifies them being a little better than average

The 9th and 11th best decades the last two and the talent level is getting restocked quickly I think. Let’s get into the next generation and make it a great one.

NU has had eight decades better than Iowa's very best. And that's out of 12 total. Gotta give the Hawks credit for their recent scoreboard ownership but that really illustrates the historical chasm between the two programs.

Exactly! The only history that counts with Iowa fans and fans of other BIG10 schools is recent history that favors their record against us. If you tell them to look at the big picture then they accuse you of ‘living in the past’.

If they want to hang their hat on their current Coach ‘s History that’s fine KF has beaten Nebraska 5 straight years and Nebraska has went through 5 Head Coaches during Ferentz 21 years with a record of 162-104, but during that time Nebraska has a record of 171-99 with it’s worse 5 year period since Bill Jennings was Nebraska’s Head Coach..

Cute thread, what is Nebraska's winning pct. since joining a conference with more than one tough opponent?

Whats funny is this is a nebraska topic ment to pull Hawk fan over which you guys always cry about.
You guys just keep being you.

I have no problem with facts from the past. It was an impressive feat.
Unfortunately Nebraska is not a team living in its fans past.

Below is the truth about our past and that of the Big Eight/XII. If you're not a new Iowa troll, then you've probably read it. Reading twice is always best, however.

I think any fair analysis would say that Nebraska was a national championship program (as @Etalicus noted above) during that 40-year period, no matter the strength of the Big Eight.

My POST FROM OCTOBER
To imply that Nebraska during its four decades of dominance (roughly 1962 through 2001) was simply riding an easy schedule into the post-season — a la UCF in 2017 — is an ill-informed argument.

The chart at this link shows that the Big Eight was a better conference throughout the 1970s than the Big Ten and remained better through the 1980s and into the 1990s. The Big Ten was slightly better than the Big Eight/XII during Nebraska's 60-3 five-year run from 1993-1997. But Nebraska was crushing SEC teams for national championships and in other bowls during that period when the SEC took over as the best conference : 1963 over Auburn, 1969 over Georgia, 1970 over LSU, 1971 over Alabama, 1974 over Florida, 1980 over Mississippi State, 1982 over LSU, 1984 over LSU, 1986 over LSU, 1995 over Florida, 1997 over Tennessee and 1999 over Tennessee. I'm not even including regular-season victories against Auburn and Alabama.

I think any fair analysis would say that Nebraska was a national championship program during that 40-year period, no matter the strength of the Big Eight. From 1965 through 2001, Nebraska played in 10 bowl games where a win would mean a title. We won five of those.

Let's look at the Big Eight/XII during those 10 seasons in which Nebraska played for a national title:
Now let's look at the conference ratings during those seasons in which Iowa played for a national championship:

The Big Eight/XII was at least as good as the Big Ten during Nebraska's long run of championship contention.

What are we now? Not very good. But we can still cherish the past without some Hawkeye/Boiler/Buckeye/Wolverine/Badger illegitimately pissing in our Corn Flakes.

We cherish the past, live in the dismal present, and hope for a brighter future.

Great Post.. In 1995 I don’t see why the Big 10 was rated higher when they didn’t have a higher winning pct over the Big 8 and the Big 8 had 4 teams ranked in the Top 10..

Oh, this will turn into a Big 8 hate fest, which is funny because theig Ten had
B
2 dominant teams just like the Big 8 did....

Problem is those two weren't even remotely as dominant as Nebraska and Oklahoma were. More like Oklahoma/Nebraska light....

That shows how horrible Iowa really is, at least compared to Nebraska. Their best decade would be our 8th best. This has been one of our worst, with Iowa bashing us every chance they get and still they are only .042 better than us.

Another decade just came to an end.. 2010-2019... this entire post was to compare our recent decades with our past.. not living in it.. the idea that io a's recent decade has been its best. We are comparing it to ours... again read the other posts as well as the OP... its pretty clear your best is compared to some of our worst decades...
