I keep reading stuff from "experts" alluding to the losses at Dtackle. And while it certainly was significant, I think too many people are getting hung up on that position.
So out of the back 7 Nebraska lost Byerson Cockrell, Jon Rose, and Daniel Davie?
But they gained the following players the last 2 recruiting cycles:
- Aaron Williams
- Antonio Reed-
- Avery Anderson
- Eric Lee, JR
- Lamar Jackson
- Marquel Dismuke
- Dicaprio Bootle
- Tony Butler
- Jo Jo Domann
- Pernell Jefferson
- Mohammad Barry
- Greg Simmons
- Tyrin Ferguson
-Dedrick Young
-Qiayshon Alexander
By season's end in 2015, Josh Kalu and Chris Jones were starting full time over Jon Rose and Daniel Davie. Of all the young linebackers, only Young is needed to start. Some of the newbies might redshirt, but most of them will play.
What these guys will add to special teams and depth is significant. People are getting too wrapped up in the questions at D-Tackle. The talent infusion in the back 7 is substantial. This team will showcase the most depth and athleticsm Nebraska has had back there since 2011.
