Good story from Huskers.com The last item was surprising...

Young Arms
The Huskers have had a youth movement on the mound this year, with multiple newcomers have seen time on the mound through 23 games. Out of the 18 pitchers that have seen time this season, nine are true or redshirt freshmen

The nine young arms have combined to throw 94.0 innings, including a team-high 31.2 innings from Matt Waldron. The nine newcomers have accounted for over 45% of Nebraska’s innings pitched.

Knutson, huh? Could be interesting.

Creighton's Conner Miller has started both of Creighton's midweek games this year but, in fact, Creighton has gone Johnny Wholestaff in both games. Miller went 1.0 innings in the 1st game, 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 BB, 1 SO. He faced 3 batters and threw 23 pitches.

In his second game he went 3.2 innings, 2 runs, 2 hits 3 BB, 1 SO. He faced 15 batters and threw 52 pitches.

Most of his work has come out of the bullpen. Six appearances, 13.1 innings, 0 runs, 0 hits, 4 BB, 16 SO.

Knutson starting is interesting. Guessing Erstad likes the lefty based on scouting Creighton. Let's hope he can throw strikes and get us off to a good start.

Yeah when I saw Knutson I thought huh?? Hope the staff is right on this one and the good Knutson shows up in stead of the bad.

This is the article I've been reading that, once again, mentions the Adidas bats.
Under the 'Longball' section.
On his radio stint last night this subject came up. Erstad said it was a move to come inline with our overall Adidas contract. Said that he liked the Rawlings bats but also likes these Adidas bats as well.

He said they have two kinds of Adidas bats and some players like one better than the other but that everyone is fine with Adidas.

Also said that, around the country, some programs are having better results with Adidas bats while others do not have better results. A mixed review, I guess.

Thought the same thing. Could get very interesting especially if they leave him in to long if things start going south. Jays tend to go johnny allstaff on us a lot but sounds like they want to get 5 out of their starter tonight, according to the OWH.

Thanks k9_r
Wish I would have heard that...
I thought about being one of those
that has the headphones on, during the game.
Maybe I could do just one ear???
