Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts will be live on Huskers Radio Network at 6:05 p.m. on Monday.

Here is the story about the more notable things Alberts said:

Here are the live updates on Alberts's comments:

***Alberts said he has learned to respect Husker softball coach Rhonda Revelle in how positive she is in everything she does. He said the softball team, which won the Big Ten Championship, had the attitude that losing was not an option.

He said there is a strong group returning next season.

"I have never seen so many home runs in my life," Alberts said.

He said he sees similarities to the Huskers women's basketball team in how they care about and play for each other.

*** A caller asked by there was only highlights for the women's basketball and softball games and Alberts said he would talk with the communications department to see

*** Alberts said Vince Guinta has brought a "nice energy" to the football teams recruiting. He said the coaching staff is pleased with the young men they've added to the team.

With the 25 scholarship cap removed by the NCAA, Alberts said people will continue to see more transfer portal players added to rosters during the off-seasons across the country.

"Now the challenge is when you have so many different players from all over trying to bring them together, meld together a team and culture because that's still very important," he said. "You can have great talent but you've got to find a way to take that talent and put it within a system, learn the system and create some unity amongst that locker room. I know our coaches are excited about getting the opportunity to do that."

*** Alberts said its "here or there" to him on the elimination of 25 scholarship football players per class as long as there is a 85 player limit on the team. He said in a transfer portal era that new rule makes sense.

*** As for some leagues like the PAC-12 eliminating division within its conference, Alberts said there will be a difference from league to league. He said he doesn't think the Big Ten will get rid of divisions.

He said leagues like the Big Ten are in the middle of media rights negotiations that will impact divisions and the number of conference games. He said the negotiations impact what future schedules look like.

*** Alberts said if there won't be divisions he said there needs to be a way to create schedule equity. He said they've had conversations in the Big Ten where they listed a team's top two rivals and its top four and tried to find a way to create schedule equity.

He said he thinks the only way to create true equity is to do that for 20 years for it all to even out.

"At the end of the day if you look at conferences, I think all of these are intertwined. It's your television partner and it's running a good business to generate the revenue that we can benefit in terms of what the distribution looks like," Alberts said. "It's the college football playoff what ultimately does that look like and how do we create a structure that is in the best interest of our partners but also allows us to have access. At the end of the day, we're trying to win championships. And what's the future of college football look like? What's the governing structure? When you combine all of those different structures it's a lot more nuanced than some think."

*** Alberts said of the Big Ten athletic directors he has talked to agree with scraping divisions and that the two best teams ought to get a chance to play for a championship.

He said he doesn't see the Big Ten scrapping the divisions before this fall but that could change.

*** He said there is a football three-game package where a buyer could pick North Dakota or Georgia Southern in September, either Indiana or Illinois in October and Minnesota or Wisconsin in November. Alberts said the package goes on sale on Wednesday, May 25.

*** Alberts said there was a 92 percent renewal rate for football season tickets. He thanks the fans for their dedication in light of recent years.

He said they roughly have between 3,700 and 5,100 tickets to sell for a game depending on that game.

*** As for the balloon tradition, Alberts said the university is concerned with the environmental impact but because of the difficulty to get helium, they've been asked by the university to not use it and save it for medical procedures at UNMC.

Nebraska will not be providing red balloons in the upcoming season.

He said they are working with marketing to keep the tradition alive in a different way.

*** A caller asked about serving "steak on a stick" at Memorial Stadium. Alberts said they've been examining food along with everything else in the fan experience but they haven't talked about "steak on a stick" yet.

*** Alberts said he talked to baseball coach Will Bolt about Purdue and Maryland not playing on Saturday, which impacted NU's chances of playing in the Big Ten tournament. He said Dennis Leblanc made phone calls on the behalf of Nebraska and said he felt the two schools "reasonably do what they could to get the game in."

"This isn't me talking this is Will, at the end of the day, we have nobody to blame but ourselves," Alberts said. "We had multiple opportunities this year to win a couple of games, to get ourselves into the tournament. The real lesson here is to make sure in the future we don't put ourselves in a position to have to hope that a game gets played where there is a chance and a threat of weather."

*** A caller asked about improvements for parking outside of the Devaney Center for volleyball. Alberts said the long-term solution is a parking garage but those are "expensive" and "difficult". He said there are some things to do to make parking easier in the short term.

He said he doesn't feel good about the parking situation because "that fan base has been as loyal as anybody." Alberts said it's "an area they aren't very strong in" and he apologizes for that.
