D1Baseball's Big Ten Stock Report Summary..

    Big Ten (4 bids)
    SAFELY IN: Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska

    ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Michigan

    ON THE BUBBLE (OUT): None

No change from last week. Nebraska moves from the bubble to the “safely in” category after taking two of three from Michigan, on the heels of a big series win over Arizona State. At 15-9 in the Big Ten, No. 35 in the RPI and an acceptable 9-11 against the top 50, the Cornhuskers should be safe even with a winless showing in the conference tourney, as long as their RPI doesn’t plummet more than 10 spots.

Michigan is the team to worry about. The Wolverines finished second in the Big Ten at 16-7, but they benefited from a very favorable conference schedule, and they failed their only two tests against regional-caliber competition in the last two weeks, losing a home series to Indiana and that road set at Nebraska. Michigan is just 4-10 against the top 50 and 9-12 against the top 100, and its best series win is against No. 65 Minnesota, a team that finished below .500 overall. There’s just very little meat on this resumé, despite the 38-16 overall record and the 16-7 conference mark. And Michigan’s No. 48 RPI is borderline as well. For now, the Wolverines still sneak into our field due to the soft bubble, but they really need to pick up some quality wins in the conference tournament to feel good about their chances.
