Not that anybody cares...nor should they but here are my observations..
I didn't come on the board much after Saturday because I knew the anger of the board would be intolerable. After scrolling through I was correct. Please always remember that with my thoughts they are always going to be on the positive side, supporting coaches. It's a bias I can't get rid of...nor do I want to.

My thoughts on the game:
- My 7 year old and I had a blast. The seats were good, he said the hot dog was delicious and for a 4 hour game he only wanted to get up one time, halftime, to go use the restroom. I have successfully turned my 7 year old into a mirror image of myself.
- Although, watching a team nickel and dime Nebraska to death isn't the most fun, I understood what Nebraska was doing.
- Nebraska probably beats Arkansas St 8 out of 10 times. I thought Arkansas St showed great patience in their RPO game.
- Tanner Lee throws better than any qb I've seen from Nebraska
- I liked the offensive play calling. Just wish they would have used more clock at the end.
- Of all the O linemen Farmer stuck out as struggling the most because of the sack. I haven't re-watched the game but it seemed it was his fault on the safety as well. But I don't know that for sure.
- If Nebraska can continue to successfully complete passes down field to Morgan and maybe get DPE/Lindsay in on it too, they should be able to run the ball with some consistency this year.
- Defensively, I like Bootle better than Lee. I think the safeties played pretty well.
- I liked how many guys got reps for on Saturday on defense. And think that will pay off in the future
- The defensive game plan (explained by Diaco yesterday eloquently) was to make Arkansas State maintain long drives. I thought they executed pretty well. Like Diaco said, if they don't get the personal foul call and the free play at the end of the half the defense essentially gives up 17 points on about 82-85 plays. Which is pretty good. Obviously those points were scored so they gave up 27 points on 500 yards and 89 plays which really isn't awful in college football. Especially first game out in a new system v a pretty good offensive team.
- Punter looked great.
- Kicker looked great.
- The rest of the special teams were not good and I imagine will be worked on quite extensively this week
