The last few months I have been amazed at the number of stories I have heard about the way our coach has built relationships over the years. It seems that his ability to be present, rivals (no pun intended) great teachers of spiritual discipline.
Let me just say that I am impressed by his ability to connect at a level that is both genuine and balanced. It just seems to me that this kind of relational expertise comes from an ability to integrate things across all streams of life, not just raw football knowledge.
This is just an observation thus far.... maybe I am getting old and soft, but I just thought it was worth sharing my thoughts on this - being a spiritual director myself. I truly appreciate this side of MR.
