Who was the very first African-American player to start a game at quarterback for Nebraska?

It almost seems too easy to say turner gill. Not sure if Nate Mason was before or after TG, but since I have to pick one, I'm gonna pick TG.

I think Mason may have started against Iowa in the 10-7 loss.
Nate Mason is correct. Mason started the Penn St. game in 1981. Gill's first start was Colorado in '81 a week after Gill started the second half against Auburn. Thanks for playing guys.
