When/who was the last time the Huskers beat a ranked non-conference opponent?
YES! The Irish in '01. Good job N-sane. I actually went to that game. Night game on national TV. ESPN Game Day was in town. Crouch and company dominated.Thought I heard Notre Dame in 2001.

Many peoples lives soon changed after that game 'cuz this was the weekend just prior to 9-11 terror attacks. Just to put a time frame on things.
Well perhaps during the regular season then. I think your right. Georgia might have been ranked when NU beat them in whatever bowl they last played in.Wasn't that the last time the Huskers best a ranked non-conference opponent in the regular season? I'd be surprised if one of the bowl wins over the last several years wasn't against a ranked team.
Nebraska has played 13 ranked non conference opponents since that Notre Dame victory in 2001.
In the regular season, there have been 5 such games.
2001 Notre Dame -W
2006 @USC - L
2007 USC - L
2009 @ Va Tech - L
2013 UCLA - L
2016 Oregon - W
In 8 Bowl Games
2014 USC - L
2013 Georgia - W
2012 Georgia - L
2011 South Carolina - L
2009 Arizona - W
2006 Auburn - L
2005 Michigan - W
2001 Miami - L
I am more concerned that there were only 6 games in 15 years against ranked teams in the non conference regular season
With that little of a sample size it's like saying until last Saturday, Nebraska hadn't beaten a team from Oregon since 1986. Well they hadn't played any either.
Thanks Tuco. Nice work.Nebraska has played 13 ranked non conference opponents since that Notre Dame victory in 2001.
