If that's how they do yes.
non divisional conference games count in determining the divisional champion in the:
american athletic conf
ACC
conf usa
mac
mountain west
pac 12
sec
sun belt
every single fbs conference (with divisions) count all conference games - divisional or not - to determine divisional champions
also the NFL
is there a conference that determines it's div champion by only including divisional games and not conference games outside the division?
ACC isn’t even having divisions this year and their playing 10 conference games.
didn't know that thanks -
they will name a conference champion based on a unbalanced conference schedule
The schedule is unbelievably hard. But Moos needs to drop the “we deserve breaks” stuff.
We need to make her own breaks.
Mizzou, arkansas and a&m ( the newcomers) got the toughestUnbelievably hard?
Mizzou vs #2 Alabama
Mizzou vs #16 Tennessee
Mizzou vs #6 LSU
Mizzou vs Vanderbilt
Mizzou vs #5 Florida
Mizzou vs #23 Kentucky
Mizzou vs #4 Georgia
Mizzou vs South Carolina
Mizzou vs Arkansas
Mizzou vs Mississippi State
Four games vs top 6 ranked teams.
So if everyone runs off a cliff you would too? There can be better ideas.non divisional conference games count in determining the divisional champion in the:

The team that has the least lossesSo if everyone runs off a cliff you would too? There can be better ideas.
Hypothetical. Team A plays OSU, michigan and Penn. Loses two of the 3 games and wins all their games in division. 7-2 conference record, 6-0 division record.
Team B plays indiana, Rutgers and maryland winning all three but loses to Team A in division play. 8-1 conference record 5-1 division record.
Who's the better team and should represent the division in the CCG??
It looks like they have a very good, young coach. I wouldn’t count on any drop off until he leaves. And when Ohio State next has some down years, they will be off our schedule. How does this keep happening?
Missouri has nothing to complain about until this year. They were lucky to get assigned to the SEC East where they have been able to play a pretty soft schedule with a limited amount of games against LSU and Alabama.Mizzou, arkansas and a&m ( the newcomers) got the toughest

The Big Ten stated that they would try to protect as many cross-league trophy games as possible - and they did mostly by preserving the Little Brown Jug, Old Oaken Bucket, Old Brass Spittoon and Illibuck trophy games. They did not preserve the Governors Bell, which is a Minnesota/PSU trophy game ( a newbie game since PSU is a relative newbie)
With that, the Big Ten had somewhat limited scheduling flexibility with Nebraska as they have no rivalry trophies of any significance. (Hero's is a joke make up by HyVee, although I like that it honors brave civilians) FYI: Iowa has no trophy games with teams from the East.
If you consider crossover games since the East/West was established in 2012 and the top three from the East ( OSU, UM and PSU), both UN and Iowa have each played those opponents 11 times.
So quit whining, put on your big boy pants and play ball.
TV driven. Everything is decided by their power = $$One thing that makes a LOT of sense which will probably never happen is conference re-alignment by geography. It's largely how it used to be back in the day just for bus travel. It's ridiculous to be flying a whole charter of players across the continent to play a football game. The old Big 8 had it right. IF you take that original 8 and maybe add in Iowa and maybe a Colorado State, travel gets a whole bunch easier. Limit conferences to 9 or 10 teams then add one round to the playoff with a requirement that you win your conference to get in. Large conferences where schedules vary wildly and travel is ridiculous was a very bad idea.
