Since I’m sure most of you weren’t there and don’t really know what all happened and the backstory this weekend, here’s my experience in the hog pen this weekend with Mr Morris John

Idk about anyone else but I thoroughly enjoyed that running narrative throughout the weekend. The hog pen always goes after the LF from visiting teams, but the real fun started during the NJIT/Nebraska game.

Someone in the hog pen found out that Mojo is short for “Morris John”, and people started calling him Morris and “Chad” Morris (Chad was met with groans from hog fans). Idk how much y’all follow anything related to Arkansas sports, but that’s about the worst thing a hog fan could ever call someone.

As for him flipping off the hog pen, I was there when it supposedly happened, and all I saw him do was turn around and mean-mug the hog pen as he skipped backwards following a 1-2-3 inning from NJIT. He definitely let us know he heard us and gave it back to us a little by glaring at us and showing us up, but I didn’t see him give anyone the bird. I think some hog fans made that up to try and justify some of the meaner heckles coming from the stands and on Twitter, but I was there and I didn’t see him do that.

After the subs came in in the 7th, those of us that were left started cutting up with the Nubbies in the bullpen. Actually it started way before that, but someone told those guys to tell Mojo to lighten up and give it back to us. Said we don’t mean any harm and we’re just having fun. That message clearly got to Mojo, because during the Sunday night game, he was turning around and jawing with the hog pen the whole game, smiling whenever he did, and everyone around me was doing the same.

That it turned into him being booed like Roger Goodell every time he stepped on the plate was just perfect. Everyone around me was dying laughing between boos every time that happened. Just really added to the ongoing “fued”, and he put his hand up to his ear as he ran back out in left field after his first at-bat, and waved his arms like he was telling us to get louder, laughing the whole time. I also liked how Nebraska’s presence cheered the loudest for him at the plate in response to our fans booing him. Just a cool dynamic, I thought.

I think it was about the 5th inning of the Sunday game, but someone down the 3rd baseline screamed “hey Mojo, stand up!” Dude is only 5’8. Well about 2 seconds pass, and Mojo went from a bent over stance, stood up, and then stood on his tippy toes. Everyone who saw it died laughing.

Anyways, he was a great sport about the whole situation, but I’m sure the vast majority of fans on both sides and anyone watching the game had no idea why he was suddenly “public enemy #1”. Really wasn’t anything bad or malicious, and he took it all in stride. Seems like a good dude and I hope he enjoyed Fayetteville. I know that little side story was enjoyed by everyone in the hog pen. It was a pretty unique experience for a college baseball atmosphere.

Sorry y’all got screwed on selection Monday. Hell of a team y’all got. As for the quality of the men on your roster, y’all should be nothing but proud of those guys. They all seemed like genuinely good dudes and gutsy competitors. From up close, I observed nothing but class from every player and coach that interacted with fans and jawed with us during the games.

Could be true? if all in good fun, then why not enjoy the jib jabbing?
not sure the folk in Omaha will see it that way when the Hogs roll in
but i sure don't see the Hogs having to many cheer them on in OUR
state.......it will all be in good fun when they do heckle the Hogs
They will keep it clean. Have fun if you head this way.....oh you see
any Hogs tossing drinks on our fans or players?
or was that just to gin up the story?
Ya'll have a good trip this way and enjoy...i don't see myself cheering
for the hogs, but the Series is a great sporting event like no other!!!

I didn’t see or hear about any fans tossing drinks at your fans or team. It could have happened, but I don’t know anything about it if it did. I was in the hog pen behind Morris John, and no one was ever ejected and there was no jawing between fans. There were a handful of husker fans scattered throughout the pen who cheered loudly for their team, but everyone left them alone and I never heard anyone talk any noise to them. I did hear a hog fan saying “Fvck Nebraska!” To a husker fan in the men’s room, but several guys immediately said hey woah and called him down and someone immediately said “hey we love Nebraska”. There’s jackasses in every fan base, but most of us are good people

Now I think someone DID get ejected along the first baseline behind the Nebraska dugout near where you guys’ fans were. I don’t know if someone was actually ejected, who was ejected, or why they were ejected (I was sitting on the complete opposite side of the stadium) but a Nebraska fan on Twitter posted a pic of cops standing with fans in that area, possibly preparing to escort someone out. Could have been due to throwing a drink at someone, but again I have no clue

Yea, I don’t know how hog fans will be received in Omaha if we make it this year mainly because sure not many people really understand what was going on between our fans and Mojo. Hell I promise the vast majority of OUR fans didn’t even know what was actually going on. Wouldn’t be surprised if hog team and fans get the business in Omaha, but hopefully everyone keeps it good natured like this past weekend.

Every husker fan I met this weekend was great folk.

I can say with 100% certainty that no team was better primed to earn the ire of Arkansas than Nebraska.

Huskers just eventually succumbed to a better team, but they definitely fed off the hate.

There is no doubt in my mind that Nebraska is going to walk into all venues next season with some big dyck swinging swagger.

We certainly realize the idiot fan segment, we have them here, decent supply actually
but do have a reputation for the "best" fan base in the nation.
So we will try to continue with that trend, but for now i honestly think a lot of folks want the Hogs to make to Omaha.....so they can show some good northern hospitality.
If you follow your team up, you WILL be treated with kindness its what we do.
but be ready for some noise if you guys make.......the state will adopt any team your playing.
:) have fun, someone here will buy you a Refreshment !! mention you were on the Scrolls

I think the jawing back and forth in the stadium is fine if it’s within reason but what Arkansas fans did online posting MoJo’s girlfriend and family member’s photos, names and links to their social media pages was unacceptable. After seeing that stuff I don’t think I can root for Arkansas ever again and I have been a huge DVH fan.

How are ALL Arky fans so morbidly obese ? Do you all get together and deep fry your favorite snacks, then make out with your prettiest cousin? Then rinse and repeat several hundred times a day?

Don’t be a douche. We have plenty of fatties here in Nebraska. Many show up on game days each Saturday and squeeze me out of my seat.

Yea that was way over the line. Online folk get real tough behind a keyboard and just start doing unbelievable and ridiculous things.

Inexcusable. My sincerest apologies on behalf of the clowns who did that. We don’t claim them

Thank you for this explanation. I appreciate and honor your sportsmanship and I will be cheering for the team that gave use a great series. Kopps was unbelievable
