Mizzou does not want to play in the Liberty Bowl because of a basketball conflict. It's about the date not the opponent. But as a Mizzou fan, I'd have been fine with a big basketball game and bowl game on the same day if it meant playing kU. And boy does it make us look bad.

Missouri 100% did duck Kansas in the bowl game. Bowl games mean nothing anymore due to the top players opting out, but a great rivalry could have been a huge draw.

They didn’t choose not to play in a bowl, just didn’t want to play KU in the Liberty bowl but will instead play in the Gasparilla bowl against Wake Forest..

Liberty bowl is a much more prestigious bowl game that has been played since 1959. KU will now play Arkansas..
