Driving into work Tuesday and listening to the S&B podcast. DB had a great line I'm going to be sharing with my kids: "Misery is so optional. And we keep choosing it."
He was talking about a strain of Husker fandom (correct me if I'm wrong, @Front Runner) that almost feeds on any negative news or takes any story and turns it into a problem.
The context is applicable here to the tone of many recent RSS threads. Here's what he said.
"I can't believe that -- misery is so optional and we keep choosing it. Like, heaven forbid you look at things objectively without coming across like some rose-colored glasses wearing pansy. You can just think the best and move on. You don't have to be pro-anything but you can be anti-misery."
My dad would have applauded you, DB. Thanks.
