Miller won't coach, Ayton will play

If these kids just want money for a year before declaring for the NBA why dont they go play overseas? They would make way more than 100K.

Most 18 year olds don't want to move half way across the world for a year. They'd rather take some under the table payments and go through a semester and a half of school.

From what I know they have a recording of a coach saying pay him. I don’t know that they have evidence of a player receiving money yet.

Big difference.

Given that I think Sean Miller is an absolute POS slimeball, I really hope you are all correct. But I have my doubts, having seen similar situations in which a coach is welcomed back to the sport as if nothing happened.

Mark Emmert seemed completely clueless from the quote I heard earlier on the radio. He basically said it's up to the individual school to decide whether or not to play the players and that they didn't have an investigation into Arizona started. He also mentioned about wanting to make systemic changes to the way things are done by the start of next season.

Essentially what it sounded like was "play your players, this is way over our heads". It was bizarre to say the least. I would keep playing every guy they say got money and then hope enough get wrapped up into it that they can't penalize everyone.

The interesting question now...how far the other way will Zona go with the next hire? I mean...they are going to hire Mr. Clean. My thoughts...

Bruce Weber
Matt Painter
Tubby Smith

Guys that, for the most part, are known as big time anti-cheats.

Pearl is one example. Eddie Sutton is an all-timer. Larry Brown also cheated at every stop and was still treated as a god because he gave Danny Manning's dad an assistant coaching job.
Jerry Tarkanian whose son Danny has parleyed daddy's cheating into a job as dirty politician.

Yeah, good point. Eddie Sutton's kid also got a head coaching job he was totally unqualified for when Daddy got s---faced and crashed his SUV. Then a few years later Eddie pretended to coach the University of San Francisco so he could get his 800th win.

No sport welcomes back its cheaters more warmly than college basketball.

Sounds like pretty much every current player who has been implicated has been ruled eligible.
These teams probably figure that the NCAA will do their usual SGT Schultz "I KNOW NOTHING" routine or that if the NCAA finally does do something, they will have to vacate wins from the whole season any way. So may as well play them.
