Curious to know what people think will happen with Nebraskas hoops coach next year.

A week and a half ago, I'd say he's returning but required to make one staff change.

Since then, and 3 ass kicking blowouts, I'd be shocked if he's back.

Marc Boehm right behind him.

We've been hearing the same excuses year after year

Man you're beating that drum. For someone that's on here a lot, you sure like to reference the silent minority with zero context behind it.

You remind me of CNN.

I had a friend send this to me yesterday. Check out some comments from Gary Sharp. Not sure if he was trolling or not, but skip ahead to the 5:57 mark.

I heard that live. I think it'd be the best possible thing for both parties, but I don't see Miles going to another P5 job from here.

Very interesting. There have been some rumblings with Eustachy issues at Colorado State. Maybe he heads back there?

Had a buddy suggest Kelvin Sampson and now that all I want. Got to get someone shaddy!

I'm not buying Miles leaving for another job. What other P5 school could justify hiring Miles after 3 straight losing seasons?

Or, why would he willingly take a big pay-cut to go back to coaching at the mid-major level, when he could get a buyout from us? Neither scenario makes much sense.

Or maybe, just maybe, next year will be Tim's big breakout season, one that gets to the dance!

I was thinking more like New Mexico. Although, I doubt he would be making as much as he does now.

New Mexico? Not a P5 job, but a school with a decent basketall history. I can't see that program offering him a job. Maybe when he was at CSU, but not now.

His buyout is $900,000 per year ($75,000/month) for the remainder of his contract. If he did it, it'd be to save face and not have the stigma of being fired.

*Buyout is based on latest contract published. Not sure if Eichorst adjusted it back when the extension happene.

Nebraska basketball is a basketball coaching purgatory. We are going to have a really talented roster next year. Whether I want him to be fired or not, Tim Miles will be here next year.

Sometimes guys don't want to get fired, and sometimes there's a monetary incentive to let the door hit you on the way out.

Next year has been said for years and years.
Havent seen it as much this year, other than people pointing at the youth of the team which is why i expect him back next season, although id be surprised hes still here in two years.

Context, a key word you missed.

I thought Miles was safe for another year after the Penn State and Ohio State wins and he probably is - but these blowout losses are casting some doubt on that. When your team doesn't even look competitive, the snappy Tweets and heart-tugging stories about how Little Timmy drew up game plans in the barnyard dirt next to The Little House on the Prairie don't really resonate.

He won't be going back to the CSU Rams anytime soon. They are 21-9 and about to play for a regular season conference title. Must be a group of 6th-year seniors who went there hoping to play for Miles - it's the only possible explanation.

He makes a benign post, where he seems to be thinking out loud; then you jump him for it. Where is your context ?

It's gonna take TEAMWORK to get this BB squad back to being respectable!

It's not the first time Randy has stated it and that's hardly jumping someone. Rivals archives posts, use the search button.

Miles is very well liked by the vast majority of the fan base and I'm not sure these last couple of games changes the points made in Barfie's article. That said, these last couple of butt whippings were disappointing at the very least. We played horribly. The turnovers were ridiculous. Minnesota is hot and they've definitely upgraded their talent but man.

Chance of a seven year, $3mm per extension?

I would have put that at less than 1%
