Mike Riley

Money doesn't buy class. Bo on his way out is the perfect example.

I always felt Nebraska should have been litigious towards Bo to recover/refuse his contract in that regards. There is legal precedent in employer payout— we should have made Bo spend money on attorneys.

I was stating more from my own personality.... you fire me and pay me 6+million, I’ll smile and say thank you all day!

Our team looked uncoached this year, our program is at its lowest point since 1961, and yet he is getting 6.3 million undeserved dollars.

Despite all this, you want him to return to Memorial Stadium to get a standing ovation for...saying nice things as he left?

Okee dokee! o_O[/QUOTE]

I heard lowest point, since 1957 during Broadcast.

I’ve shared my opinion on this before the firing - no sense in rehashing it.

Curious question. Are many impressed with Riley’s handling because of the way Pelini went out? I believe Pelini was the exception - not the norm. Check out Bielema’s press conference minutes after he was fired. Very complimentary of the university and the kids, and Bielema is normally regarded as a douche. I believe more coaches exit this way than what we last experienced.

Pelini was definitely an outlier in regards to professional conduct.

I understand the desire to focus on Riley's personal, off the field, characteristics. He came across as a nice guy. Good for him. Doing so allows us to avoid focusing on his criminally poor performance at his job. Nebraska may be paying the price for hiring this guy for a long time - both literally and figuratively.

So yeah - Thanks Mike for not scorching the place as you rush out of town with millions of our dollars.
