saw a post from Darin Rovell (ESPN)

anyone know why the hell Michigan would be paying Colorado to visit ... is it because of no return visit to Boulder?

also saw that Wyoming is paying UC-Davis $400K

oh ... and GBR

For whatever reason I originally though it was a 1-1. However, when the above tweet came out I took a look at our future schedules and there is no return game listed. In the past few months we put ND back on the schedule so it is possible we dropped the return game for CU to do this...or I could have just remembered it wrong it wrong (though the deal was signed around the same time we added the now completed Utah series and they got a return game)...either was it looks like it going to be a 1 and done and thus a payout...the funny thing is it's in the range of what we pay MAC teams for 1 and dones.

There was never a return game scheduled in Boulder, thus the payday for CU:

Here's an article from the time the deal was made.

Not too hard to figure out why former CU AD Mike Bohn would agree to that deal. He inherited a financial mess from his predecessor and had to generate revenue somehow. Bohn's since been canned and the current AD seems more adept at raising money, but at that time CU's athletic department was a financial train wreck.

Only real downside for CU is that the game ended up being in a year when their in-conference road schedule is brutal.

And I hope Muchigan gives them a 1.4 million dollar beat down today.

Buffs take an early lead at The Big House. It won't last, but I would at least like to see Harbaugh burst a couple of neck veins today.

i'll root for colorado. harbaugh acting like a whiny baby about the CU depth chart thing was enough for me.

The Buffs' collapse has begun, which is not surprising - although it's been with significant help from the officiating crew.
