Miles has improved out talent but when I watch some of the young guys on other teams, I realize that we're still not getting the elite guys. Roby may be the exception and Jordy and Watson are going to be good IMO, but some of the other guys would only be spot players on these teams.
I saw two teams who were pushing the tempo and scoring droughts were non existent. Watch them play and then watch Nebraska. If you are a recruit what kind of offense do you want to play in? Nebraska is like watching paint dry compared to those 2.
Of course they have, but what does that have to do with running a no motion offense?
Being able to bury 3 after 3 has more to do with it than coaching. Man Michigan can shoot from outside. Turnovers yes.
Maybe one of these days Miles will recruit some worthy of playing in his 338th ranked 3 point percentage defense.
Part of that ranking is the inability of Ed Morrow to defend bigs inside due to his lack of size and Jordy's propensity to get in foul trouble. If you have to constantly double down on their bigs, somebody is going to be open. Michigan shot 11/15 from 3 in the first half of their game today so their shooting against NU was not an aberration. I don't have the answer. I know what we're doing defensively is not the answer. I've read on here that Molinari is largely responsible for the D we run soooooo IF we were going to can a coach maybe that's a place to start. Even though we could have shot better in many of the games we played, we still played well enough to score enough points to win more games IF we had played better D.
That's what I miss most about Danny Nee's teams. In the half-court they sometimes looked like they had never played basketball, but they could really be murder in the transition game. Play swarming defense, do anything you could to get the ball, and then attack the basket on the other end. It was fun to watch. It won games.
The worst was Collier's attempt to implement the Princeton offense. That had to be the most boring thing in history. What better way to scare off fans than to make it as methodical and dry as possible?
