Adidas won't be going the knockoff sports brand route anytime soon. They're not good at football but they have other things going for them.

Ha! And1!

I wish you weren't right but you probably are, I see Adidas stuff and I usually think "Old Man" or even worse, I think nothing at all.

I wish they would have went UA, be the first team (since I am sure Maryland was going to be first no matter what)

ADIDAS was God awful for Michigan athletics. The uniforms for football and other sports were second rate at best.

UM fans are elated to have Nike back

Adidas football gear sucks compared to Nike and Under Armour, Back when I used to play ball the Adidas stuff I used was always the ugliest, least comfortable and fell apart the fastest. I would rather take less money from Nike or UA than wear Adidas and get left out in the cold when they drop football apparel altogether. I can't think of any blue blood program that rocks Adidas gear anymore other than Nebraska.

Do some schools have multiple merchandising deals (maybe all do). But noticed Notre Dame and Purdue gear in a Columbia store recently

The college one of my daughters attended as a track athlete left Nike because try their quality and service was sub par. Lots of stitching problems and high rate of defects and returns. I was stunned because I too thought Nike was god.

I think of Russia or soccer when I see Adidas, mainly Russia though. Russia LOVES Adidas...

I can't speak for track apparel because I have never used it but when it comes to football gear it is very clear that Nike and Under Armour especially, put a lot more of their time, energy, and money into that equipment than Adidas does. I haven't seriously worn that stuff for 10 years so a lot could have changed since then but if Adidas losing their NBA deal, Notre Dame, and Michigan is any indicator they definitely aren't doing something right.

Can't disagree with u on that

Wouldnt the full share the University is getting soon make up for any lost apparel revenue

I read an article the other day in a trade magazine that said Adidas is working to clean up some of the plastic in the Pacific and I guess recycle it into gear. At least they are doing something right. Honestly, they just need to get some new designers and a good marketing campaign.
