Spent the weekend in South Beach visiting daughter and went to the game.

It seems the fans embrace the reputation. They drop the F bomb and the C word everywhere. We sat in three different locations to avoid the sun and heat and heard it everywhere we sat. We heard it in the parking lot after the game too.
Here are a few examples... On the first targeting call, the Miami fans around us started shouting "F" the Refs, "F" the refs. When they escorted the player off the field...they gave him a standing ovation. The second targeting call was worse. The language in the stadium was deplorable. They do serve beer there, don't know if that's an excuse or not. The parking lot after the game was more of the same. "F" Nebraska as we walked to the car.

A couple of thoughts on the stadium. A nice large statue of Joe Robbie, wish our statue of Bob Devaney was that size. The National Anthem was terrible, no vocalist, just the small Miami Marching Band that was not linked to the PA. We sang loudly to help out. Great flyover with a couple of fighter jets maybe F-16's ?

Looking forward to another trip to Lincoln this weekend with daughter. I still feel like I need to hose down.

OMG words??? As in F the refs? On a call that went against them? No way.
Serious question is "F the refs" worse than an entire stadium chanting "Bullsh!t?" Cuz I know that has happened at Nebraska before... asking for a friend.

Sorry adult language and beverages were served.

Hmmm, not sure you point on this response. Miami has a reputation for being a pretty rough town and the football team a reputation for some iffy, to say the least, behavior on and off the field. When a fan base gives a standing ovation to 2 players for targeting, does that not lend justification for the thug/ poor reputation by the town and school to hold true? Not sure if your a Miami fan, attempting weak support for your team or what.

Yeah man, I'm completely a f'n Miami fan.

You weren't actually in Miami, much farther north from there and a ways away from the historically "rough" areas of town. And unless you were surrounded by their football team idk what their reputation has to do with anything.

I saw plenty of video of the tailgate area. From what I saw it was very mild. There are way more people packed into a tighter space moving faster giving the appearance that it could be wilder under the viaduct in Lincoln - and that really isn't wild at all.

I'm sure none of the thugs/punks can drive 30 minutes to Joe Robbie from Miami. Even their parole isn't going to limit their travel that much.

This is a fan base that wants to get rid of Golden and bring back Butch Davis.

I have to admit that Golden has probably under performed.

However, the sanctions had something to do with that.

Fans want to fire a coach who tries to keep players in line and who graduates players.

Fans want back a guy who was probably at the beginning of the Shapiro mess and got out before he got mud all over him.

Same guy goes to NC and gets hooked to the academic scandal

Fans would rather be 11-1 with thugs than 7-5 with clean cut players who graduate.

You think if one of our players got ejected when at home, our fans wouldn't get up and applaud? They weren't celebrating the play that got him ejected, you applaud your own for the effort. And the "f" word? Hear it plenty at memorial stadium. Get over it

what ever happened to the guy that use to sell the Lincoln fing Nebraska if you don't like it take your b***h a** home t-shirts. Used to be on the ped overpass every game?

Well, you have 2 options. Talk $hit back or walk away with your tail between your legs and post on a message board later.

I stopped reading when you wrote "I saw a video", that's too funny when you are arguing a point with a person that WAS THERE.
