Spring 2007, had his leg infection on his leg in late 2006, from a bad homemade tattoo.
It's almost like you wished there was a person who had the power and the ability to make the right decision on how best to use Washington this season...hmmm..... well, I don't know who that would be? You guys got any ideas?
You guys can STOP THE 170 pound rumor. M Washington killed that BS rumor in a hurry on tweeter. Showed him weighing himself and saying “Now if he hears another 170 comment he’s going to explode”. The scale showed him at 191 almost 192. Still not 210 or 220 but he’s definitely not 170 and he proved that. So enough of the dam 170 talk. No clue how or who started that crap.
Edited...how do I add pictures to this now?? I’m trying post the picture of M Washington weighing himself. Either way he’s 6’1 191.6
Haha.....thanks for the good news sir!!
No problem brotha. Just had no clue how the 170 BS came into play anyways. Just simply pointing out the dude isn’t 170, he’s actually 191.6.
Maybe they’re thinking about Gebbia.
Might be closer to the truth but even Gebbia is up to 190 plus now. You can tell Gebbia has added SOME weight. Either way, both young men will be fine. Even JK Dobbins for OSUcks true freshman RB last year was around that weight. Listed as 204 as a freshman but I bet his true weight was in the 196 to 199 area.
A couple of the pictures show him standing in shirt and helmet and he looks slight especially compared to Tre. That guy is ripped.
170 was the number from the initial article about him being eligible.
in looking for his post about weight on twitter i found that 1 "fan" in particular tweets players what seems like 24 hours a day. What the hell is that about? I mean follow the program but dont pester the players like a 5 year old
who is the poster that does that?
It's not someone from here but a Twitter follower that is in the mentions of damn near every player or even recruits
Except Sipple said that the media didn't ask specifically about Washington. The players and coaches themselves said Maurice stood out.
There's still plenty of value in redshirting players. Just have to know which ones.
It's in here Tweet!
here is a sample
Well then he's the one who started the rumor. It was actually him who told the OWH he currently weighed 170 (at least that's what they said he said). Regardless I wouldn't worry about it one way or the other. He's done well in camp whatever his weight and whatever his level of S&C. He'll only get better in both areas with Duval/Ellis to help him.
18 years of talent, development, genetics, and experiences vs 6 months of conditioning. Some players have "it" and no amount of conditioning and training is going to allow the average player to catch up to that level. Don't know if that's Maurice or not, but he's only been here a few days and he's caught the eye of several players, including upperclassmen as well as the coaches.
What's wrong with 170?
I dream about 170...
C’mon now bud. She’s just not gonna get there. Talk to Stephen Stills or something.
That ain't right.
Just let me dream... it isn’t hurting anybody.
ton of idiot Nebraska fans hounding players and recruits. Hard to pick the top 20 creepiest on each post.
I am guessing this is not a problem that only the huskers have...
I’m guessing it’s a blue blood norm, and becoming more frequent everywhere else.
The Ohio State University had a sex offender fan stalking players via Twitter a few years back. Yet another shining moment for the Buckeyes.
Surprised Urban didnt ask him to come coach Tight Ends.
First I didn't call you names. I asked you not to be a dumbass. That's different. Generally your posts are thoughtful. Secondly, you dramatically mischaracterized my statements to fit your old school coach's "whip em in to shape" philosophy. Times have changed since we did August 2adays in 95 degree heat and took salt tablets.
You give him a week of running and he'll be in good enough AEROBIC shape to hold up in practice and light scrimmages. Secondly, you DO bring him along slowly physically. You don't throw him out there getting 20 carries in a scrimmage to get pounded on by linebackers in the first couple of weeks. He's got roughly 3 weeks now still to get in game shape and he can do that without getting torn apart by heavy lifting and running the stairs at Memorial Stadium.
No, I quoted your statement. You said a week. Keep adding more to verify your position that keeps changing, that’s fine. Geez, I need to get my supply of salt tablets replenished I guess. Yes, I guess “old school” means kids need to be in condition to prevent injuries. So how many kids have you worked with in this area? You manage to find a way keep slipping in the personal digs don’t you?
Have a good one and I am confident Washington is going to be fine with this coaching staff but would not be surprised if he had continual bumps and bruises that slow him down. May be wrong, hope so. But no matter, even now you agree he won’t be fine in just a week.
"Why does Frost think that? Because Washington hadn't worked out as much in the summer, with his focus on academics. "I don't think he was eating and getting all the nutrition he needed." Washington showed up lighter than what he was on his recruiting visit."
Pats self on back...
Twist it however you want if that's what makes you happy. No doubt, being in good physical condition is going to help prevent soft tissue injuries in the long run. But he's going to have continual bumps and bruises no matter what. It's football. Some of us played whole seasons with broken bones and it had nothing to do with preseason conditioning.
Lol nothing wrong with 170 brotha. I just seen a few peeps in this thread worried about him being 170 and being killed in the BIG10 because he was to light. All I was doing was proving the 170 was inaccurate and he’s actually 191.6. That’s all. I got my answer on how the 170 deal started. Either way, he’s 191 now.
Why not give him some time. He just qualified (good for him) looks like a very good RB. Let him adjust to college life both in the classroom and on the field. Like to see kids like this stay in school and be successful. Good for Frost sticking with him and giving him a chance. Need more opportunities for kids to be successful.
Good luck this year and see you in November!
I think this kid is for real. He's only been here a week and most of the coaches have said he's special and a lot of his teammates have too. I highly doubt the older guys would be praising a true freshman who just got here unless there was something there.
He's 170 right now. The tweet he had showing 191 was from January.
I think we are all going to have to accept it. This kid is the real deal. I know it’s been a while and we aren’t sure how to handle this sort of thing, but we will figure it out.
